His bank illegally doesn't want to turn loose any moneyand has given me fits from the git go! Really have a hard look at your bank. Don'twant to name names out here in cyberland, but these people are crooks.....a biggadabank, too. I'm either gonna have to get a shot gun and/or an attorney. o : TGIF.....have a good one! Mornin' Cuzzies, Still having trouble w/ the way these notes are coming out w/ words run togetherand all in one semi-unreadable paragraph.....just want you to know. And, Idon't have the mostest time to fiddle faddle around abt. it. Don't know whetherthe prob's coming from Juno or Firefox. Right cool here this a.m.....in the high 40's. Clear as a bell though. Glad I gave up trips which required flying. That whole pre-flight thing of scanning, etc. is a real mess. Can you say "overkill"? My last flying trips were to the midwestto see Da Kid play ball several summers ago, and I knew then I would X them off myagenda permanently. To be packed in like a sardine with the great unwashed and thetee shirts w/ the sleeves cut out is just not mah bag. Ole Buckley would get a coupleof Bloody Marys down me before he ever put me on the plane....he just didn't want tohear about it. o : Y'all have a good one today.....stay off of planes! You don't need to go anywhere! Buckette

According to the 1850 census, Alfred and Mariah were born in Illinois, as was Elvira. From their ages we can deduce that Sarah Lovelace Davis died sometime after 1845, i'm not convinced Allen and Sarah were divorced, their older children may have chosen to live with other family rather than live with Allen's new wife Margaret, that sort of thing was common in those days. On Wednesday, i shall go to the Greene County Historical Society to search their cemetery records, hoping to find Sarah's grave. i'll let you know what i find. I will send you Allen's obit, a deposition from Alfred's civil war record showing his brothers and sisters, and some other miscellaneous documents I have. The one problem with Sarah Lovelace is what happened to her. It appears the family was split up when Allen came to Greene County from NC, with the various brothers and sisters living with different people - so did Sarah come to IL with him? Did she die here in IL? Did they divorce in NC before Allen came to IL with his family? I know Allen remarried in 1848 to Margaret Houston. There are a lot of questions to ask. i've been researching genealogy for over thirty years, and finding out who Elvira Davis' mother was has been a question for a long time. Would very much like to see the obit for Allen Davis. According to several family trees on this site i've been able to find how Price Lovelace and Elvira Davis are related. Price Davis' wife was Sarah Hubbard, they were both born in Ky. Price's mother was Eleanor Lovelace who m. Unk., Eleanor was the daughter of Isaac Lovelace and Catherine Beall. Isaac Lovelace had a brother, Charles Lovelace who m. Sarah Robey, one of their sons was Thomas A. Lovelace who m. Amelia Dyson. Thomas & Amelia had a daughter, Sarah, who m. Allen Davis in N.C. sarah also had a younger sister named Elvira. Allen Davis is buried in Old Salem Cemetery, just west of Springfield, Il., Elvira Davis/McMann/Holland is buried next to her second husband, Walker Holland, in Sulphur Springs cemetery, near Loami, Il. Through Alfred's military records, I found the names of his brothers and sisters. I, too, have Elvira's death certificate. I also have a death record for a brother of Elvira, Elam Walker Davis. On it, it gives the name of his mother as Sarah Lovelace - but it shows his father as Sidney A. Davis. Since Elam's daughter was the informant, I think she just made a mistake on the name of his father. If you want further information, or have other information, let me know. And, it truly gives you pause whenmen friends, grown, experienced bidness men, tell you that they areas nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs! And, if that isn't bad enough, my nose has ceased to smell. I canonly hope it's temporary. To all my Lovelace cousins who have or are serving - Thank you, Veterans! We appreciate your protecting our country, our home, our family. -SB
I live in Carter Co, TN and know some Adams. If you would send me info on them I can poke around. Ed Lovelace Thank you so much for your offer. I'll tell you as much as I know and also, what I speculate. My grandmother, Eliza C. Adams (Johnson) born 1878, left a note saying her father was James A. Adams of Greene Co., Tennessee and his father was Jesse Adams. I know for sure that James A. was born in 1845. Some census records say he was born in NC and some say TN. I find James A. and Jesse Adams on tax rolls of Greene County, TN throughout the 1860's.except when they were both gone and serving in the Civil War (James - for the Union; Jesse - for the Confederacy). I have never found James and Jesse together on any 1850 or 1860 census (and I've looked at every state). The reason I think Jesse Adams Jr (son of Jesse Adams and Nancy Lovelace) is my Jesse is because he is in Carter County Tennessee.in the 1830's which is close to Greene County, TN. There are marriage records of Jesse Adams to Ruci Nave in 1832, Carter County. (There is speculation that Ruci died in childbirth.) Then in 1834 there is a marriage record of Jesse Adams to Frances Redmon. (I have not been able to learn any more about this union.) The other Carter County record I have found is of a divorce of Jesse Adams and Zuriah Adams in 1849. I really thought that this could be my Jesse because that would explain why I could not find Jesse and James together on an 1850 census because Jesse had abandoned his family. So then I used the census index to find any Zuriah in Carter County. I came up with Zuriah Isabella Buck. I checked her on the 1860 and 1870 census and she was living with her father's family but there was no James listed on the census. I don't think she would have given up her son after a divorce, but it is a possibility. So this is what I've learned and thought about over the years of research. Hope it isn't too confusing. Thanks for any help at all, Carol Blazzard cgblaz@moscow.com
