Can anyone confirm that Susan Almedia Lovelace is the daughter of Elias L. Lovelace and Almeda Wilson? If her father is actually Elias L. Lovelace, then she would trace back to Levi and Sarah Lazenby Lovelace. According to what I can quickly glean online, Levi was the son of Thomas and Amelia Dyson Lovelace. Thomas was the son of Charles and Sarah Robey Lovelace, and Charles was the son of John Baptist and Eleanor Wilcoxen Lovelace. And keep in mind that Elizabeth is not yet subscribed to the list, so if you respond, please include her email (see above) in your response Peace, Part of the Tree, Greg

    3. I finished another BGSOTC volume with only one Loveless in the 3940 names. The Loveless is “E. B. Loveless 1-0” on Page 78 listed under “September Probate Court 1842 (pp. 382-383) "James W. Carson Sheriff of this County returned into Court the following list of Insolvent and delinquent Taxables for the year 1841 to wit" [Two columns are given: white polls and black polls, indicated here by the two numbers, respectively, following the name.]” He is listed in the 3rd column sixth one down. The only Lovelace/less in that area that pops to mind is Berry Ellison Lovelace, Sr. who was in Rutherford County in 1840 and then Cleveland County in 1850. I know the initials are backwards from the name. Any other thoughts by anyone on who this might be? Bob P.S. 3. Sorry if there was a problem with this – Rootsweb apparently does not transmit HTML messages as sent. The last link on the page does go to a typewritten page with different state sites listed. I did not get any warnings from that link – I have current version Norton installed. 3. All, Fold3.com has a database of WWII Army Enlistment Records which includes one David W. Loveless, born 1920 in Kansas, lived in East Baton Rouge Co., LA. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on 20 June 1946, S/N 12074931 from Alexandria, LA. Fold3 has a listing from the SSDI showing his birth on 25 Sep 1920, death on 21 Jul 1992, and last residence in Baton Rouge, LA. The Kansas State census of 1925, available on Ancestry.com, shows a David Loveless, age 4, as a son in the home of Harvey and Nettie Loveless in Smoky Hill, Geary County. Harvey was age 44, born in Indiana, came to Kansas from MO, and working as a mail carrier. Nettie was 41, born in Kansas. David had an older brother Robert (Robt.), age 11, born in Kansas. Harvey and Nettie were living in Smoky Hill in 1920. They had one son, Owen R., age 6. This is probably Robert from the 1925 census. David was not yet born. Harvey was 39, born IN, father born IN, mother born OH. Harvey was a mail carrier. At this point, I lose the easy research. Jack, you got anything on Harvey and Nettie? 1. Re: [LL] C. Dillard Stiles, Sr mentions daughter Betty (Boyd) Lovelace - NC
    2. Greg Lovelace via
    3. Bob, I think I may have this one, after crawling all over the web and in my database looking.... First of all, Iron Station is in Lincoln Co., NC, just outside Lincolnton on the Charlotte side. I looked through my database and found a Boyd Lovelace who lived in Lincolnton in 2001 and was listed as a survivor in the obituary of Sarah White Lovelace, published in the Gaston Gazette on 25 June 2001. It says, "She was a native of Cleveland County, daughter of the late Andy and Vanner Thorn White, wife of the late Sam Lovelace, homemaker." A search on FamilySearch.org for "Boyd Lovelace" who lived in North Carolina returned a hit for one Boyd J. Lovelace, born August 1944, who lived in Lincolnton in 2007, according to the database "United States Public Records, 1970-2009." That hit listed possible relatives Bobby Carol Lovelace, Jamie Sam Lovelace, Levon Lovelace, and Randy S. Lovelace. I checked my database and found Bobby Carol Lovelace, who was born 5 June 1949 according to some old data I received eons ago from Cuzzin Doug (probably from the NC birth registers). Bobby is the son of Sarah and Sam. I also found a Jamie Lovelace who was listed as a pallbearer and grandson in Sarah's obituary. Sam's death certificate from Lincoln County shows him as the son of Street and Martha Denton Lovelace, born 26 July 1923 in Rutherford Count, and died 2 July 1986 en route to the Lincoln County Hospital after cardiac arrest. His wife Sarah was the informant for the death certificate. I have Street as the son of William and Sarah Bridges Lovelace, William as the son of Green and Rebecca Moore Lovelace, Green as the son of Benjamin and Nancy Lovelace, and Benjamin as the son of ol' Barton the horse thief. 2. Bill Lovelace via
    3. I was at CVS this afternoon picking up an Rx. The clerk knows me and called me Mr. Lovelace. As I was walking away from the counter the girl said there is an man who wants to talk to you. I looked around and a man ask are you Mr. Lovelace. I responded yes, and then he introduced himself as James(Jim) Lovelace, Jr. We talked for a couple of minutes and discovered that we both live in Locust Grove, Virginia. To make a it short, James (Jim) Lovelace, Jr was born in 1933 and has a son named Richard who owns a golf store in Fredericksburg, VA. James Lovelace's father is James Lovelace, Sr born about 1905 in Halfax, Va and moved to North Carolina. James Jr. was born N.C. and returned to Virginia later in life. I can't find anything on either of them. Can anyone give me some help? He remembers his father talking about his linkage going back to England. That's all I have currently. We plan on getting together in a few weeks and see if we can find any linkage. He has not gone any genealogy wokk.
