Born November 28, 1949 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of Pat Hester Jolly of Hickory and the late James Edward Parker. Ms. Ward was a college graduate and spent most of her career as the Director of Training at Carillon Assisted Living in Raleigh, NC. She spent the earlier part of her career as a beautician. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her son, Jon Ward and wife Sherry of Maiden, NC; sister, Sherry Atwell and husband Hugh of Hickory, NC; grandchildren, Beth Crane and husband Nick of Maiden, NC, Courtney Loveless of Claremont, NC, JonJon Ward of Gamewell, NC; great-granddaughter, Camdyn Crane of Maiden, NC; fur babies, Balkie and Bubbles; best friend, Sherrie Brittain Smith of Morganton, NC; and several nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles. A memorial service will be held at Winkler's Grove Baptist Church on Sunday, November 23, 2014, at 2:45 p.m. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30 - 2:45 p.m. at the church.     3. Feb. 28, 1938 ~ Nov. 18, 2014 Mom had a wonderful and fulfilling life of travel and outdoor activities always surrounded by her loving family. All dogs and babies were her best friends. She especially loved Bear Lake, the Cabin, her own dogs, and the pack of Cleveland Ave area dogs that would stop by every day for their treat from The Dog Lady. She was born and raised in Salt Lake City. Her 58-year legacy with her husband Ron includes six kids; Ron (Dena), Sandy (Mark), Bob, Rick (Michelle), Dan (Mary), and Mike (Dusita), 14 grand-kids, and 16 great-grand-kids. As per her wishes, there will not be any immediate services, but the family will hold a celebration of life this summer. The family asks that no flowers, cards, or gifts be sent. We found them by going to the general area and asking the folks that live in the area, most know the Lovelace name and where the cemeteries are.     3. Mary Inez Lovelace, 82 a resident of Chowchilla and Merced since 1932 passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2014. She was born in Madera, California and attended Chowchilla area schools. She married Henry Lovelace in 1952. Inez and Henry moved to Merced and raised their five children. Inez worked as a bank teller at Wells Fargo and County Bank until her retirement. After retirement she moved to Chowchilla and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family. Inez, a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry. She leaves behind one son, Daniel Lovelace and four daughters, Diane Steele (Dave), Delene Meidlinger (Mark), Donna Brunmeier (Pat), Doris Black (Steve), 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and her longtime companion, Ruben Price. She also leaves behind her brother, Albert Borba and sisters, Telvena Chumbley and Elvera Garrison. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Ivers & Alcorn, 901 W. Main Street in Merced. Billy Basil <-Oscar Fred <- William Perry <- Thomas Eugene <- Nathan <- Asa <- Barton <- Benjamin www.cecilmburtonfuneralhome.com Billy Basil Lovelace age 87, died Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Wendover Hospice. Born in Cleveland County on January 11, 1927 he was the son of the late Oscar Fred and Arcie Evelyn Bell Lovelace. Billy attended The First Church of the Nazarene. He worked at Cooper Tire and Rubber and Oakies Tire for a number of years before retiring. Billy liked gospel music and started the original Kingsmen Quartet in 1953. In addition to his parents, Billy is preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Humphris Lovelace and a son Darrell Lovelace. Billy is survived by his wife, Edna Biddy Lovelace; a son, Phillip Lovelace and wife Kathy of Kings Mountain; stepson, David Huffstetler and wife Amy of Casar; two sisters, Lillian Rogers and husband Bobby of Shelby and Carolyn Lail of Kings Mountain; grandchildren, Brad Lovelace, Brandy Collins and Lee Lovelace; step grandchildren, Chris, Jason, and Samantha Huffstetler; and four great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Tony Rayfield officiating. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park with military honors. The family will receive friends on Wednesday. October 29, 2014 from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.
