    3. Hi Bob, We are expecting 10 to 15 inches today, unless you are in the higher elevations which we are. Five below zero now and scheduled to drop further, with wind chill driving it much lower. Nothing's moving. Schools, businesses closed...even the mall stayed closed until noon. Wonder if the Pats will be able to get into Boston. Nothing coming or going at Albany. A great day in northeast New York. 1. [LL] Obituary of Joseph Leonard Jordan mentions daughter Sue (Glen) Lovelace - ID
    2. bgsroots via
    3. Joseph Leonard Jordan1929 ~ 2015Joseph Leonard Jordan passed away on January 28, 2015 in Boise, Idaho. He was born July 26, 1929 in Wallowa, Oregon to Leonard B. and Grace E. Jordan. Joe, sister Pat (Story), and brother Steve grew up on a remote sheep ranch at Kirkwood Bar in Hell's Canyon, Idaho. They were home schooled until moving to Grangeville in 1941.Joe always credited his mother's teaching and his father's advice for finishing first in his high school class and graduation from West Point in 1952. His military service included armored cavalry and tank units in Colorado and West Germany. He resigned his Army commission in 1955 and completed a graduate degree in civil engineering at Iowa State University.Life suddenly became more exciting in 1958 when Joe married Cynthia Anne Karlburg, a music teacher from Lewiston. She and their three children, Sue, Carol, and Len lead the "gypsy" life of design and construction, putting "togetherness" ahead of convenience. Joe's engineering assignments took them to Australia, Alaska and various sites throughout the west. Joe's home life was interrupted by brief assignments to Colombia, China, and Canada. His last position was district vice president for Morrison Knudsen in Anchorage. In 1991 Joe and Cindy retired to build a house near Council and subsequently a cabin near Bear, Idaho. Both are located near Hell's Canyon and the Seven Devils. Renting out pasture gave the family an excuse to be in "God's Country" again. In 1993 Joe was appointed to the Idaho Water Resource Board. His 12 years of service under three governors included a term as chairman during negotiation of the Nez Perce tribal agreement to settle water rights claims pre-dating their 1855 treaty with the government.Joe was a member of Eagle United Methodist Church, and was active at various times in Masons, Rotary, and Exchange Club. His interests always centered around family. He maintained a lifelong interest in Native American history as well as public policy regarding rivers. Having been involved in the development and construction of some 30 dams and related projects, he appreciated the need for reasonable balance between careful use and preservation of Idaho's magnificent natural resources. In 2003 the Jordans returned to Boise to be close to family and civilization. This meant finding homes for their two trail horses but the foothills trails were still inviting.Joe is survived by his wife, Cindy, his children, Sue (Glen) Lovelace, Carol (Dave) Eckert and Len (Jen) Jordan, and grandchildren, Anne, Eva, and Joe Lovelace, Mary and Henry Eckert, and Tess, Emily, Grace and Jack Jordan, his brother, Steve (Colleen) Jordan and many nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends. The family extends our heartfelt thanks to St Luke's nurses on 7 East. 1. [LL] Obituary of Mary Lou Westers mentions Rebecca Loveless (Sam) - UT
    2. bgsroots via
    3. Mary Lou Western May 15, 1931~Jan 20, 2015 Deseret, UT-Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mary Lou Rawlinson Western, passed away peacefully on Jan. 20, 2015 in Lehi, Utah. Our hearts rejoice at the reunion she is having with her eternal companion Harold and 2 children, Linda and Robert. Born on May 15, 1931, in Los Angeles, CA, to Claude Fisk and Irene Steele Rawlinson. The family later moved to Delta, Utah. Mary Lou was very active in many clubs and committees, and served as editor for the High School Yearbook during her senior year. She graduated from Delta High School in 1949. After high school Mary Lou stayed in Delta and worked as a telephone operator. It wasn't long before she met her tall, dark and handsome, Harold Floyd Western. On September 15, 1950, they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they had 13 children. She also fostered a son, George Williams, through the Indian Placement Program. Her life was centered on raising her family and doing the things she loved: singing, sewing, gardening, cake decorating, visiting with grandchildren and her many friends. She made everyone feel welcome in their home. The family lived in many different places during their marriage: Provo, Utah; Phoenix, Arizona; Salt Lake City, Utah; and finally retiring to Deseret, Utah. Mary Lou had the opportunity to travel throughout the world with Harold - they toured the islands of the South Pacific, and traveled to faraway places such as Israel, Egypt, Italy and Mexico. Mary Lou was a lifelong, faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her testimony never wavered and she found great joy in serving others. She served in many callings in the church. After Harold's retirement, Mary Lou and Harold served in the Texas, Houston Mission and as workers in the Manti Temple. She was also an active member of The Daughters of The Utah Pioneers. Mary Lou touched the lives of many and will be greatly missed. Mary Lou is survived by her brother: Myron Rawlinson (Carol); sister-in-law: Irene Rawlinson; children: Marcia Bartlett (Sammie), Anne Stoddard (Stephen), Richard Western (Teresa), Pauline Marble (Dave), Dorene Kitras (Zissis), Samuel Western (Laura), MaryLou Wakamatsu (Lincoln), David Western (Jan), Susan Quirantes, Joseph Western (Jeneece), Rebecca Loveless (Sam). She also leaves behind 52 grandchildren, and 75 (and counting) great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband: Harold; children: Linda and Robert; 3 brothers: Neil, Hal and Melvin; sister-in-laws: Joyce, Phyllis and Verdene; sister: Naomi; and her parents: Claude and Irene. The family thanks staff and loving aides at The Bee Hive Homes of Lehi and Envision Home Health and Hospice who helped care for Mom. Funeral: Saturday, January 31, at 12:30 PM, at the Deseret-Oasis LDS Chapel, 3423 W 4500 S, Deseret, UT. Viewing at the church, 10 AM-12:10 PM, prior to funeral. 1. Re: [LL] Obit of Irene Wright (NC)
    2. Greg Lovelace via
    3. This one has me stumped. I did find out that, after her marriage to Charlie Wright, Coy (Irene's mother) was married to a John W. Blanton, and in 1930 they were living in Sandy Run, #7 Township, Cleveland Co., NC. Coy L. Blanton was 47 (born circa 1883). Irene was listed as a step-daughter of John, age 13. This was apparently the second marriage for both John and Coy. In 1920, Coy was married to Charlie Wright, and John W. Blanton was with his first wife Josephine (age 41, b. circa 1879) and four of the children who were listed in the 1930 census with him and Coy. Coy was 37, consistent with the 1930 census. She and Charlie had four kids, with Irene being the youngest. In 1940, John and Lovelace Blanton were listed in Sandy Run, #7 Township, Cleveland Co. Lovelace was 57 and was most probably Coy Lovelace Wright. John died in 1943, and his death certificate lists his wife as Coy Lovelace, age 60, who was the informant for the certificate. John was buried in Plea! sant Ridge Baptist Cemetery in Cleveland Co. alongside M. L. J. Blanton (23 Oct 1871-30 Jan 1924; first wife Josephine?). Checking other for other Blantons in the cemetery yields no matches for Coy. There are Lovelaces buried there (Woddford Lee and his wife, and Jonas Alvin and his wife), but none of their families have anyone that matches Coy. Anybody else have any clues on Coy?
