The list has been quiet for quite a while now with the exceptions the obituaries that I post on a daily basis. You may wonder why I do this... Greg, Doug, Cecil and others have contributed significantly to my Lovelace family tree both directly and indirectly and this is my way of “paying back” to them and to you by providing information to the Lovelace archives. When you are doing research on your families the census can only take you as late as 1940, after that the sources are scarce. Obituaries can often bridge the gap between the last census and the current generation because there are often 3 generations published in the obit. It also is a valuable source for maiden names and other married names. In order to liven the list up a little, I am asking you to post your favorite search sites. Mine are: ancestry.com, familysearch.org, whitepages.com and findagrave.com. Bob Stewart
All, FamilySearch has Virginia Fritts in the database "District of Columbia Marriages, 1811-1950" "District of Columbia Marriages, 1811-1950," index and images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/V6HS-XY2 : accessed 22 February 2015), Nathaniel Flournoy Lovelace and Viola Virginia Fritts, 08 Aug 1944; citing District of Columbia, United States, Records Office, Washington D.C.; FHL microfilm 2,319,543. Barksdale and self- published in 1940, lists Nathaniel Flournoy Lovelaceas the eldest child of Nathaniel Flournoy Lovelace, with a birthdate of 16 February 1917. Juanita Huston Kross 1943 - 2015 Juanita Huston Kross of Granbury was born April 20, 1943, in Stephenville to Clifton and Lela Shelton Huston, and on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015, she was reunited with them in heaven as she passed into the arms of Jesus. Funeral: 3 p.m. Saturday at Wiley Funeral Home in Granbury. Interment: Acton Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Wiley Funeral Home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Jerry Savelle Ministries or a charity of choice . After graduating from Stephenville High School, Juanita came into her own as a mother, a career woman and a daughter of our heavenly Father. She earnestly sought an unparalleled relationship with Christ and baptism with the Holy Spirit and with fire that she read about in Matthew 3:11. Her sincerity and yearning, her study and devotion, her intention and fervor were recognized by God and He filled her spirit with that fire. Not only was Juanita forever changed, she also touched the lives of countless others, changing them as well. She devoted her life to Christ, and the Holy Spirit worked through her as she served others, gave generously, renewed hearts, healed bodies and shared the good news of the Gospel. God also blessed Juanita by leading her to the love of her life, her husband, Dave. In addition to witnessing to others and helping those in need, she and Dave shared many interests, including active church service, avid reading, card-playing, traveling and treasuring every moment with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Words cannot express the depth of her love for Christ and for her family. More than anything, Juanita's greatest desire is for every member of her precious family to experience the relationship she had with Christ, to feel the fire of the Holy Spirit and to spend eternity with her in God's presence. Survivors: While her parents and other loved ones preceded her, many others remain here for now, loving and missing her immensely, including her husband, David Kross of Granbury; children, Kristi Floyd Umber (Mike) of Granbury and Shaun Floyd (Pam) of Weatherford; grandchildren, Lauren Umber Robinson (Nick) of Stephenville, Audra Umber Clark (Jacob) of Granbury and Andrew Floyd (Char Lea) of Wichita Falls; great-grandchildren, Caleb Robinson, Emma Robinson, Deckard Clark, Preston Clark and Brodie Floyd; siblings, Carol Honeycutt (Harvey) of Dallas. Hi, cuzzins Got back in from Costa Rica late last night, and am now trying to catch up on 10 days worth of email and tasks that piled up while we were away. Bob, sorry you northerners are having such a fit weather-wise. I was sweating bucketfuls hiking through the rain forest a few days ago, and would have welcomed a taste of that cold air! Things are OK here in SC, with temps in the low 50s as we are behind a warm front keeping the ice and snow up to the north. I'm not 100% sure about this Jeremy Lovelace, but circumstantial evidence links him to Charles Edgar Lovelace, great-grandson of George Logan Lovelace, my great-grandfather. Here's the search... "United States Public Records, 1970-2009," database, FamilySearch.org (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/QJRB-PX9Z : accessed 17 February 2015), entry for Jeremy S Lovelace. Residence Shelby, North Carolina on 15 November 2007. Born in 1981. Possible relatives: Karin Chapman Lovelace, Karin Lovelace, Susan Grant Church, Teddy Dean Lovelace. The residence address was 110 Lindsey Drive in Shelby. Karin Chapman Lovelace could possibly be the daughter Karin mentioned in the obituary as Karin Harrill, married to Billy Harrill. The spelling of Karin using an "I" in place of the "e" is significant in distinguishing her. So I searched for Karin Lovelace living in North Carolina on FamilySearch and got 4 hits, including the one above. The other three are all from the same source, "United States Public Records, 1970-2009." - Karin Chapman Lovelace, born 28 October 1963; lived at 1600 Spangler Drive, Shelby, on 1 May 1991, at 114 Lindsey Drive, Shelby, from 1 Dec 1993-1 Feb 1995, and at 110 Lindsey Drive in Shelby from 1 Jan 1995-1 Jan 2009. Possible relatives: Jeremy S Lovelace, James Robert Lovelace, Karin Lovelace, Pat Lovelace, Patricia Patrick Lovelace, Randy Scott Lovelace, Susan Grant Church, Teddy Dean Lovelace. - Karin L Lovelace, lived at 1055 Davis Rd., Shelby, from 1 Jan 1998 to 1 Sep 1998. Possible Relative Randy S Lovelace - Karin Lovelace, lived at 1064 Davis Rd., Shelby, from 1 Jan 1995 to 1 Jan 1998. "North Carolina, Divorce Index, 1958-2004," database, Ancestry.com (http://www.ancestry.com), entry for Randy Lovelace. Randy Lovelace, spouse Karin Lovelace, married 6 Dec 1980 in NC, divorced 35 January 1993 in Cleveland Co., NC >From these entries, I think that Karin Chapman, daughter of Charles Eugene Chapman, married Randy Scott Lovelace. If I am correct, this Randy Scott Lovelace was the son of Charles Edgar Lovelace. This would be the line: Jeremy Lovelace (1981- ) - Randy Scott Lovelace + Karin Chapman -- Charles Edgar Lovelace (1920-1976) + Pauline Enloe --- James Morris Lovelace (d. 1968) + Dulcie Emma Rayburn ---- Asco Glenolvie Lovelace (1868-1931) + Biddie Mary Jane Hamrick ----- George Logan Lovelace ------ William Lovelace ------- Benjamin Lovelace -------- Barton Lovelace --------- Benjamin Lovelace To England --AND-- ---- Biddie Mary Jane Hamrick (1870-1935) + Asco Glenolvie Lovelace ----- Roseannah Lovelace (1837-1928) + James M.
