    3. Well, last note on this  -  I promise.  Yesterday the TimesDaily site would not allow me to view March 15 obits because I had exceeded the monthly ten views.  Today I can view March 16 obits, March 14 obits, March 13 obits with no mention of the monthly ten views.  However, I continue to get the exceed the ten monthly views for obits posted on March 15.  And none the obits appear to be in Legacy.com after March 12.  For all of you who aren't interested in Lauderdale County, Alabama Lovelaces, I apologize for this series of messages.    Greg

Nancy,    Yes, I've attempted to view the Times Daily obituaries both from the timesdaily.com site and from the legacy.com site.     From what I can tell, the Times Daily death notices still have unlimited viewing, but to view the entire obituary (obits after March 12, 2015) requires a subscription after ten monthly views.    Greg     From: Nancy Lovelace Gooch <[email protected]> To: Greg Adams <[email protected]>; "[email protected]" <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, March 15, 2015 11:38 PM Subject: Re: [LL] Florence Times Daily (Lauderdale County AL) change in obituary reporting Hey Greg,        Are you using timesdaily, com and then searching ?  I'm not sure how far back the go but that's how I search them Nancy Lovelace Gooch On Sunday, March 15, 2015, Greg Adams via <[email protected]> wrote:   >From what I can tell, it appears the Florence Times Daily (Lauderdale County AL) newspaper has changed how it reports obituaries.  It appears the last day Times Daily obituaries were in the Legacy.com system was March 12, 2015.  Previously, unless one had a paid subscription to the Times Daily newspaper, one was limited to viewing 10 online articles per month  -  but the Legacy.com obituaries weren't included toward the 10-article count.  Now viewing each Times Daily obituary is apparently considered an article for purposes of the free 10-article count.     I'm assuming the obituaries will also no longer appear in Bob's queries.  Doggone, but I'm reluctant to pay $104 a year just to read obituaries in an area I moved away from 35 years ago . . . . .      Greg Adams   Chattanooga TN      From: bgsroots via <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, February 22, 2015 7:03 PM  Subject: [LL] Quiet List   The list has been quiet for quite a while now with the exceptions the obituaries that I post on a daily basis.  You may wonder why I do this...  Greg, Doug, Cecil and others have contributed significantly to my Lovelace family tree both directly and indirectly and this is my way of “paying back” to them and to you by providing information to the Lovelace archives.   When you are doing research on your families the census can only take you as late as 1940, after that the sources are scarce.  Obituaries can often bridge the gap between the last census and the current generation because there are often 3 generations published in the obit.  It also is a valuable source for maiden names and other married names.   In order to liven the list up a little, I am asking you to post your favorite search sites.  Mine are: ancestry.com, familysearch.org, whitepages.com and findagrave.com. 2. bgsroots via
    3. Michael Sullivan Massey 1933-2015 Michael Sullivan Massey was born October 2, 1933 to Claude Clifton Massey and Irene Anistata Sullivan the fifth of five children. Mike graduated from St. Thomas High School in 1951. He met the love of his life, Mary Elizabeth Lovelace, and married her on October 2, 1953 at Saint Joseph's Catholic Church in Houston, TX by his uncle – Father Joseph Sullivan. He was accepted into the Asbestos Workers Local 22 in 1953 where he worked for 44 years before retirement at age 62. While a member of Local 22 he served one year as Sargent of Arms, two terms as Trustee, three terms on the executive board, and two terms as Vice President. In the first 15 years of his membership he missed only three monthly meetings; 1 time he was traveling, 1 time he had car trouble, and 1 time too much to drink. He helped organize the present Retirees Club of Local 22. Mike was an active member of St Edwards Catholic Church for the last 18 years. Mike and Betty had six children; Michael Raymond, wife Gayla, Steven Patrick, wife DeeDee, Deborah Lynn, Joseph Daren, wife Alice, Kelley Marie, and Casey Brian, wife Gaylynn. Have 12 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Mike did not have any favorites – he told them all they were his favorite when he talked to them. They were the light of his life. All of the grandchildren call him Big Daddy, because when his first granddaughter was born he felt like he was too young to be a "Grandfather", or "Gramps" or "Grumps", so he told them he was their "Big Daddy"; the one with all the brains – they were too young to know the difference. So that was that, Visitation for Mike will be held Thursday, March 12, 2015 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the chapel of Forest Park The Woodlands. Funeral services will also be in the chapel of Forest Park The Woodlands at 9:30 AM on Friday, March 13, 2015. Published in Houston Chronicle on Mar. 12, 2015 -
