    1. [LL] Obituary of Diane Head mentions son Scott Loveless - CT > WA
    2. bgsroots via
    3. August 17, 1947-March 17, 2015 Diane was born in Connecticut on August 17, 1947 and went home to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ, on March 17, 2015. She often said her most important calling was to lovingly nurture the children entrusted to her care and to joyfully accept her own place as a child of the living Lord. Diane wanted her Lord to call her home the minute her work was done here on Earth. Her family and friends rejoice with Diane at the completion of her life's work and at her passing on to the glory of heaven. She is survived by her son, Scott Loveless with his wife Jennifer and granddaughters Nicole and Josephine and grandson Max of Mill Creek; daughter, Julianne Henley with her husband Reginald of Sammamish; and brother Glenn Holmes with his wife Marge of Florida. Diane retired as Director of the Everett Gospel Mission's Women & Children's Shelter in 2008. Of all the positions she filled, she enjoyed this one the most because it gave her an opportunity to combine social services with ministry and outreach, sharing God's Love in action. Diane was ordained as a Minister in 2007 and was Associate Pastor of Light of Faith Church in Mill Creek. She was also a published author and Director of Caring Place Ministries in Aberdeen. Her work experience included teaching special education classes in NY, Welfare to Work case management in Lynnwood, Executive Director of Scriber Gardens Retirement Community in Lynnwood, and Social Services Director of a skilled nursing facility in Snohomish. Diane served for two years on the Washington Protection and Advocacy Services Advisory Board on Mental Illness advocacy. Somehow she also found time to sell real estate and a variety of other commodities. Diane was an active member of the South Snohomish County Chamber of Commerce and Northwest Christian Writer's Association. Diane loved to sing, read and explore new places. She loved being a Mom and a Grammy. She recently began blogging as the SavvySassySenior. There will be a public celebration of Diane's life at Garden Court Retirement Community on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Garden Court is located at: 520 112th Street SW, Everett, WA 98204. Following the public celebration, there will be a short graveside commitment service by invitation. That family had real tragedy with their kids. They had three daughters who died as infants or toddlers and Donald died in WWII. They had one other son just older than Donald, but I don't have any information on him. Hopefully his mother didn't have to experience his death also. Otherwise she outlived at least four of her children, not dying until 1955. The father had died in 1937. This family was from the Virginia line. It goes like this: Donald Alexander son of Jere Lovelace son of James Smith Lovelace and Martha Ann Barksdale. James was the son of William Oldham Lovelace and Ann "Nancy" Williams Womack. William the son of Thomas Lovelace and Tabitha Oldham. Thomas the son of Charles and Bridgett McLaughlin. Charles's father is not known, but there was a Roger Lovelace of the right age in Old Rappahannock Co VA who has potential as his father. Lou Ann

    3. All, Looks like, based on data I got from Cuzzin Doug Lovelace back in the 1990s, that Lucille was married to Wilbur Lee Lovelace. I show her as Lucille Reynolds, mother of Alfred Lee and Larry Joe Lovelace. The NC Birth Index on Family Search shows Alfred Lee born Lovelace born to Lucille Reynolds and Wilbur Lee Lovelace on 29 Nov 1955 in Shelby, Cleveland Co., NC. ["North Carolina, Birth Index, 1800-2000," index, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/VH21-6V8 : accessed 23 March 2015), Alfred Lee Lovelace, 29 Nov 1955; from "North Carolina, Birth and Death Indexes, 1800-2000," index, Ancestry (www.ancestry.com : 2005); citing vol. 38-3, p. 98, Cleveland, North Carolina, North Carolina State Archives, Raleigh.] The same database shows Larry Joe Lovelace born to the same parents on 29 November 1956 [Ibid., (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/VH21-2KW : accessed 23 March 2015), Larry Joe Lovelace, 29 Nov 1956; from "North Carolina, Birth and Death Indexes, 1800-2000," index, Ancestry (www.ancestry.com : 2005); citing vol. 39-3, p. 85, Cleveland, North Carolina, North Carolina State Archives, Raleigh.] The obituary of Wilbur Lee Lovelace was publishes in the Shelby Daily Star on 4 June 1964 (Thanks, Bob Stewart!) and lists his parents as Sam Lovelace and Tish Dixon. Samuel Lovelace was the son of John Lovelace and Dova Melton. John was the son of Nathan Lovelace (brother of Samuel, Asa, and Benjmain). Nathan was the son of ol' Barton the horse thief, and Barton was the son of Benjamin and Sarah ?Robey? Lovelace of Montgomery County Maryland. And we know that DNA shows this line to be descended from the area of Dorset, England... 3. Nancy, I'm feeling great about that game!  Looking forward to the next one to see if the team can win another one! And cute, trying to disguise it as genealogy....Sent from my smartphone - apologies for typos -------- Original message -------- From: Nancy Caton <[email protected]> Date: 03/22/2015 10:10 AM (GMT-05:00) To: Lovelace <[email protected]>, Greg Lovelace <[email protected]> Subject: You must be dancing over the Wolfpack There's a March Madness app, did you know? Watch games live (if you already have cable, if not just the CBS broadcast games) And for the lurking key word checkers/censors I would think that the census of the wolf population in Yellowstone should prove of interest especially if they do any DNA testing. Thumbed into my iPhone. Apologies for terse or misspelled items.
