    3. Bob,This is Asa who married Mary Green. He was born about 1815 and lived in Cleveland Co. after it was formed in 1841.  I'll need to take a close look at all these Greens, sbecause this case full of Green genealogy, and my family has Green roots, too, probably in multiple lines. I'm traveling at 5he moment and don't have the data with me. I have this Asa as a son of Nathan and grandson of ol' Barton the horse thief.  I had thought for a while that hw as a son om my Benjamin , Nathan's brother, but given the fact that he didn't live that close to the known descendants of Benjamin, backed off on that and placed him with Nathan instead.Peace,Pare of the Tree,Greg Sent from my smartphone - apologies for typos -------- Original message -------- From: bgsroots via <[email protected]> Date: 05/11/2015 4:18 PM (GMT-05:00) To: LL <[email protected]> Subject: [LL] Lovelace Snippit from The Bulletin of The Genealogical Society of Old Tryon County, NC Volume XXIII August 1995, Number 3 RE: Asa Lovelace Page 128: “ Thomas Green, 1865 [This file is an erroneous mixture of the estates of Thomas Green and John Green.] 23 February 1865: Widow's allowance to J. 2. Greg Lovelace via
    3. All, I was able to reach Wicasta Lovelace through his website. Here is his response to the question of Mara Lovelace: "Mara is my ex-wife. She was born Tonya Marie Nickell, but when we split up, she kept the Lovelace and started calling herself Mara. So, Pamela Tucker Nickell was my mother-in-law." Wicasta also sent me this today: "I've largely accepted that my Richard was the James Richard Lovelace who was buried in Bethel Baptist Cemetery in Ellenboro, NC, and died in Colfax, NC in 1915 (Father: William Lovelace, Mother: Sarah Bridges). Although I can't specifically remember what led me to that conclusion, I know of a few people who shared that conclusion. Right off hand I can only point to data by Z. D. Harrill; http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=dwh1951&id=I55080 Have no idea if this is accurate or not, but at some point I believed it enough to tie it in with my own research. Of course, years down the road and blessed with an increasingly unreliable memory, I couldn't tell you why. ;-) Here's that Richard's link at Find-A-Grave http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=lovelace&GSiman=1&GSci d=1994018&GRid=116108214& " Peace, Part of the Tree, Greg -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of bgsroots via Sent: Sunday, May 03, 2015 11:57 AM To: LL Subject: [LL] Obituary of Pamela Tucker Nickell mentions daughter Mara Lovelace - Lexington (NC or SC) The Mara Lovelace listed here previously lived in FL, NC and SC, Radaris.com mentions that Wicasta Lovelace is a relative.
