As I understand it from seeing what is going on with other surnames. FTDNA is the best place to have this DNA study for Genealogy done. I think if one had about 6 men named LOVE who want tested the price is around $161. One may think that is a lot of money and it is true that some people would find paying that much impossible but others might like to know the results enough to make small donations toward someone taking the test. If we really want to know which of our Loves were brothers or if we share a common ancestor, I see this as the only way we will find out. Think of it, we are talking about finding some information about something that happened 300 years ago that has not been found before. I just sit like a sponge rather than a genealogist. I collect what other people find. Many of the people that lived a hundred years ago or longer took the time to write things about their families and we have what they wrote and we still don't know who is related to who. Are we likely to find out in the next 50 years? I doubt it unless we do DNA. No as listowner, I am not allowed to write many email like this one to the list but I suggest that some of you men with surname Love start talking together. Maybe you can figure out something <G> Someone has to be in charge, someone has to contact FTDNA and make arrangements. Personally if a group of you choose to do this, I can be counted on to make a donation.
