How could this genetic testing help me prove my Love line? Do you have to have the last name Love to get tested?? Lisa ------------ Yes, Lisa, you need to be a male descendant since the markers that are recorded are only on the Y chromosome. Any of your grandmother's brothers male descendants would do. Although my family's male descendants are not using the Love surname, they still are genetic descendants of the Love line. It has been "fun" finally tracing the birth name of my grandfather! I just wish I could find further info on our Robert L. Love. He has been my brick wall for many, many years.
