Hi, My LOVEs come from Saltcoats in Ayrshire, Scotland. The earliest I have is James Love who married Jean Auld in 1796 in Saltcoats - they had 7 known children (William, John, Robert, Ann, Hugh, Jean, Helen). The family were weavers. Any connections? Best wishes ... Ann

Hi Ann, Lou Love here. My James Love [known as "the weaver'] was born in Scotland/Ireland in 1704/5 and came to Penn. bef 1725, with brothers John, Robert, William, & Alexander. I suspect Mom & Dad and other brothers & sisters came over as well - Just Don't Know! He brought his looms with him and still had them in South Carolina when he died and passed them on in his will. I have been unable to make any connection to the olde country. I've been unable to find the exact time or port of entry much less the departure port.
