I made a big mistake. I checked the index again and the Mathew Love whose papers are housed at Perkins Library, Duke University is Matthew N. "Nixon" Love. He lived in western NC on Clear Creek in Henderson County. Was a legislator for NC and a leader of military in the civil war. He did own and farm land in Dardanelle, Yell County AR.
