My LOVE is William b. November 22, 1841 in Glasgow, Scotland. According to the 1900 census, he immigrated in 1845. His whereabouts after that are unknown. UNTIL: In 1864, he married Uretta Robbins in Janesville, Rock Co., Wisconsin. They had the following children: 1.William b. September 22, 1866 in Janesville 2. Alma b. November 1868 in Janesville 3. Elpha b. April 1872 in Janesville 4. Charles b. October 25, 1875 in Oshkosh 5. Harry b. 1877 in Oshkosh 6. Florence b. February 12, 1883 in Oshkosh 7. Austin b. May 20, 1886 in Oshkosh The family moved up to Oshkosh some time between 1872-1875, where they settled. William was a mason by trade when he and Uretta married. William is my brick wall (no pun intended, lol). He comes out of no where...seemingly without family or past, and married Uretta, daughter of Jacob and Alma (Guild) Robbins. I've not been able to link William to any other Love family in the area. His marriage to Uretta was a simple announcement in the paper. I've found no actual marriage record to document this union. This piece of paper would have saved me great agony in trying to find parents for this man. His death record list unknown parents.
