I'm seeking information about the parents of John Burton Love, who was born in New York on January 10, 1863. His death certificate states his parents were born in Scotland. However, I am assuming John lost contact with these parents at some point since his second wife, Mary Jane Loveday, did not know their names--only that that they were born in Scotland. I am also assuming they immigrated to the United States in late 1862 or early 1863 as census records listing John's birth indicate both "at sea" and England. The most recent record lists "at sea"; however, the death certificate lists New York, which is where his birth would have been recorded if he were born at sea on the way over.
