Greetings Fellow Love Listers! I have placed this query many times over the last few years in different places but in my desperation and frustration I am going to try it again. Surely I can't be the only person who is related to this family! Here is my brickwall minus a few chunks I have managed to knock out: James Love and Eliza Smith were married in Meigs County Ohio in 1837. They appear in the 1840 census there. In 1850, I find them in Tyler County WV listed as follows: 648 / 642 Love, James 38 Farmer VA Eliza 28 OH Harriet 9 OH Jane 7 OH William 5 OH Elizabeth 3 VA Clark 3/12 VA Elizabeth age 6, Henry (Clark?) age 3, and George age 10 months, all die in May of 1853 in Tyler County. Frances Jane marries William Garrison, lives in Franklin Co. OH, NY, and Portsmouth OH. William marries Henrietta (from Maryland) and is living in Maryland at time of 1870 Census. Eliza's mother, Elizabeth Smith, dies in Meigs County OH in 1857. At least 2 more children are born to James and Eliza - Mary Ellen in 1859 in Great Bend, Meigs Co OH and Minerva in 1862 born somewhere in OH. There may also have been another son Benjamin born about that time. The entire family, with the exception of Jane and William, disappears after the birth of Mary Ellen and does not reappear in the census until 1880 Lebanon Twp Meigs Co OH when Mary Ellen is working as a servant in the family of Spencer Hall, and Eliza is a widow living a few doors away with grandchildren William and George and sister Mary Lovett. The boys are both born in MD so I am guessing that they are children of William and Henrietta. Where was this family in 1860 and 1870? IS THERE ANYONE WHO CAN HELP ME WITH THIS?????? Although I am fairly certain James and Eliza are Mary Ellen's parents, I can't find her listed with them anywhere! There is also no birth certificate for her in Meigs County as they weren't a requirement until a year or so after her birth. I have been to Meigs County and have been unable to find her in any records there. Mary Ellen Love married Joel Mack Anderson and eventually moved to Benwood WV. They are my great grandparents. Minerva married David Barnett and moved to Pittsburgh PA. If you have any information to help me topple this wall, I would certainly appreciate it. Kathleen
