    1. RE: [LOVE-L] DNA for LOVEs

    3. > The Benjamin Love will >of 1793 in Chester Co. SC was witnessed by William Love, William Love, Sr. >and Frances Love (fe). Remains unclear as to who these LOVEs are and how >they are related to Benjamin. Anybody know? Both the John Loves of Chester had sons named William. Mine died in 1799 leaving widow Elizabeth; sons John Royal, William and Samuel (a minor); daughters Mary (my ancestor, m. Samuel Wright), Elizabeth and Jean. I can build a pretty good circumstantial case that he was the son of English Bill but lack the final proof. The other was the son of James. His wife was Martha ?Drennan?. He had sons William, John, James, Thomas, Robert and Joseph; and daughters Jane, Sarah and Martha. I have sort of believed that Benjamin and my John are the same family. That is mostly because the sons of James and Alexander are pretty well recorded. Despite the fact that I have seen several references to the will of William (assumed to be English Bill) the actual document has never surfaced and no one knows for sure whether we have the names of all his children. We know that he had: 1) James was shot by the Patriots crossing the river, 2) Thomas escaped and went to live among the Chickasaw 3) The daughter who married Mr. Sadler But no others have been proven to date. James Love, son of Benjamin, died without issue.
