Mary and other Love researchers, from Joseph William (Bill) Love, Jr., (III), Galveston, TX. In response to your questions about the DNA testing, I am glad that we are doing this. I have found that I am a very close match at 25 markers to both Lou Love of Houston, and Gerald Love of Alabama, both of whom trace their ancestry to one of the Love brothers who came to PA in the early 1700's. Gerald and I have exchanged photos of our fathers when they were in their early twenties, and they resemble enough to be brothers. My family history says that my John Love ancestor came to America in 1806, to South Carolina. I have not been able to find ships records to show this 1806 arrival, but I have long believed that my ancestor brought his family to South Carolina because he already had relatives living there. Since both Lou and Gerald had Love ancestors in SC at about that same time, it seems logical that these may have been relatives of my John Love. I am now trying to link my ancestor to the Love brothers who came to PA in the 1700's through Scotish and Irish records. That is likely where the link will be, if my family history is correct.
