I have just recently begun to do some research on the Love and Bowes families from Lanark, Scotland. My great grandfather was Thomas Bowes b. 1851, Newhaven, Leith and was married to Janet (Jessie) Fisher Bowes b. 1853, Cambusnethan, Lanark. My grandfather, Alexander Bowes was the stepson of Thomas Bowes. His sisters were Hughina Love, Marion Dickson Love and Margaret Whitecross Love. I think Thomas Love might have been the son of Hugh Love and Allison Laurie Whitecross. My grandfather, Alexander Bowes and his wife Ann Paterson came to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1904. Would you have any information on this line of the Love family? I would greatly appreciate any information on my ancestors. Thank you.
