    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Love, Goodwin Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.love/3622/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Trying to find information on Walter B Love, Jr, son of W B Love and Verla Eva Goodwin, born about 1923, probably Jefferson or Walker Co AL. (Have the 1930 census, which shows his father born in OH.) Walter, Jr was living in Mobile 9/1950 when his mother died, but seems to disappear after that. The Walter B Love, 1959, in the AL Death Index is not the right one. This Walter supposedly died relatively young, possibly from a fall from a balcony, possibly in Birmingham. Info need quickly. Thanks, Dee

    1. Re: [LOVE] James Love of GA, John Love, Ingraham Love
    2. Fred, I am so glad to see your posting of this on the LOVE family list. Problem is, your results do not appear on the familytreedna Love family site. This needs to be corrected!!! >From your DNA results, and with similarities in naming pattern, with out a doubt, ...you are kin to the family out of Brunswick Co. VA through Stokes and Wilkes NC and on to Cabarrus and Rutherford Counties NC. All of the lines are identified, but there are yet a few stragglers who fail to link. Martha and John J. in Union County NC, Mary who maried Hunnicutt, and your James. Looking at: http://www.angelfire.com/nc/benjthomasofansonnc/love.html You will see the signatures of four Love men during the formation of Cabarrus County NC. Though not dated, the petition was ca. 1794. Note that there is James Senior and James Junior. I believe your James Love is the most likely candidate for being James Love Junior in that petition. I don't think you come down through other lines. Particularly since your James speaks of gold lottery lands in his will. > > From: "Fred" <love1394@mchsi.com> > Date: 2007/02/06 Tue PM 08:38:34 EST > To: <love@rootsweb.com> > Subject: [LOVE] James Love of GA, John Love, Ingraham Love > > This message is in reference to some posts over the last few days about > James Love of GA and his family. > > I am descended from this James Love of GA and the following is submitted in > hope that it will help find a connection to all these other Loves. > > I did a DNA with the Love Project. 3. This message is in reference to some posts over the last few days about James Love of GA and his family. I am descended from this James Love of GA and the following is submitted in hope that it will help find a connection to all these other Loves. I did a DNA with the Love Project. My kit # is 41294, a 37 mark test. My test is a match to 4 others except for 1 marker. The Kits are 12265, 17221, 8332 and 8821. The mark that differs is the first Number. Mine is 13 and the others is 14. We know from census records that there was a James Love in Edgefield SC that match the right number of household members to be our James. We know that James was married 2 times. He arrived in GA about 1808 and the wife listed in census is several years younger that what is shown in SC. James was a winner in the GA Land Lottery and left that land to his wife and 2 youngest sons by his 2nd wife Elizabeth. James was born about 1764 and died 1834. He executed a will in Campbell Co. GA on the 26th day of May 1832. He listed his heirs as follows: 1. Ingraham Love born 7 Jan 1797 in SC. Married Nancy Sentell. 2. John Love. Could this be the John Love that married Martha Patsy James. James Love named Stephen James as executor of his will. Robert Pressley was a witness of the execution. He was a son-in-law to Stephen James, and married Piercy James. Stephen James was married to a Mary Love. 3. James Love born about 1790 in SC. 4. Mary Brooks. 1. Re: [LOVE] Jno LOVE m. ? Ingraham late 1700s, NC
    2. There are numerous "Lost Loves" in and around the area where James Love from VA to Cabarrus County NC lived. This James married Mary Ingram, daughter of John Ingram of VA. Before removing from VA, this James sold his land in Charlotte County VA to a Charles Love. No other record on this Charles. But what if he were a brother, and what if he died and his child or children moved on with their Uncle James? That could have happened. Also, ca. 1794, a petition was signed by James Sr. and James Jr in support of the formation of Cabarrus County NC. This younger James may be the namesake son of James Love of VA to Cabarrus. He might even be the same James Love who moved to Campbell County GA and left a will naming son Ingrahm Love. We DESPARATELY need DNA on the descendants of this James Love in GA. And there is yet another James Love. In 1821, when old James Love died in Cabarrus, there was a younger James who also died. Their estates are seriously mixed up in interpret! ation. This young James served in war of 1812 and left a pension. He may be the son of old James Love's son Thomas, or the son of a son who died young... There are other possibilities... There is a John Love who appears in Union County and a Martha Love there too whose links to the greater family are not known. These may actually be siblings to your Polly. Note that there are way too many females with the name Love getting married in the early 1800's area of Cabarrus County NC. There is more to this than we know and can prove. > From: "gc-gateway@rootsweb.com" <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> > Date: 2007/01/31 Wed PM 04:49:04 EST > To: <LOVE-L@rootsweb.com> > Subject: [LOVE] Jno LOVE m. ? 3. Hi Ellie - Lou Love here. Haven't we corresponded before? There LOVEs are mainly "Southern" LOVEs and were in SC, GA, AL,MS, TN, AR, LA, TX. There was a brother to the 4 that went south, [John] who stayed in PA. He had several male heirs and I'm sure some ended op in IN. But as likely know, John Loves are a dime a dozen and it's really difficult differentiating who's who. I tend to look at DOB and Spouse to seperate them. I dn't have any of the names you mention in my database which now numbers over 60,000. I don't have them all by any means so keep looking - somewhere out there is info on your line, Good Hunting, Love, Lou Louis E. Love, O.D.
