I read Lou and Galen's notes about James the Weaver and his sons James, John, Robert, William and Alexander, hoping that one of the listers will mention their William Love born about 1746 in Tyronne County, or write about his wife Isabella Swansey or their children, Martha, Robert, Hugh, Jennett, John, Isabella, Andrew and William. They are all born in York County, South Carolina but I can't connect them with anyone in or around Pennyslvania. Otherwise, William Love will be back on the top of my to do list when I return to Salt Lake City again in October. Henry Hanson College Station, TX.
Hi Cuzin Galen: I'm Louis E. Love & your cuzin Wasllace K. Love [sister Barbara Marshall] did the yDNA study & matched my yDNA test. SO - we are related somewhere back up the line. I'm going thru my database looking for possible Robert Love connections - but we may be related several hundred years back in Scotland or Ireland & never know who may be the missing link. My line traces back to James Love, the weaver, b 1704 and is of Scots/Irish ancestry. Whether he was b in Ireland or Penn. is debatable. James had 4 brothers that we know of - John, who stayed in PA., Robert, William & Alexander who came south to SC with James. They all had many sons & all had a Robert. Robert the son of James was b 1728. Robert s/o John was b 1734 & d 1828 - but he m Jeannette White 1757 - had 13 Children - among them - Robert b 1767 - Jane b 1761 - but no Mary. Robert Jr s/o Robert was b 1744 - m Sarah McDowell - d 1779 Robert s/o Alexander b ca 1761 - I have no further info on him We don't know much about the William 'English Bill" family. He may have had a son Robert, but we don't have the data. Wish I could be more helpful. Have you communicated with Barbara Marshall? Look forward to comparing notes. Love, Lou Louis E. I have a new website for all the Loves that have been dna tested and would like to share their test result and family history. If you are a male Love, no matter what lab you used to test and no matter where in the world you are located, I would like to hear from you. Go to the site and see what we are doing: http://www.afpn-news.com/love Fred Love fredlove@afpn-news.com
All, I received this in email.. thought it might interest someone in the group. Brentwood, Tenn. June 23 Middle Tennessee Genealogical Society Seminar For more information, visit www.mtgs.org Thanks, Frances
I have updated the researchers page with all the new requests for information. We have added at least two or three new family tree data for tested participants. Do we have any one with information we could put up for Group 7? My husband is in Group 8 so I will add a link for our information. If you are in the ungrouped section, consider putting up your information. It would be great if we could add more information online. At this time, if you are tested elsewhere your info will have to be put up on a separate page. I also believe Fred is putting together a different website to record these and others as well. Please contact him. If you have a link posted for your family tree data for the new page and you want to edit your own page, send me an email and I will send you your login information. I have sent out those already requested, so if you did not get your information, drop me an email I may have overlooked your request. Thanks, Frances Frances Love DNA Project Coordinator http://lovednaproject.googlepages.com/home
If you are a "Love" and willing to share your dna test results (no matter where you did the test) and your family tree, please email me at this address: fredlove@afpn-news.com Fred Love ==================== Genealogy: where you confuse the dead and irritate the living.
Ok.. Here is the official rollout of the new website. It is still in work. Changes.. - The link is now http://lovednaproject.googlepages.com/home - Researchers will now have their own page. I am creating a page per kit. For those who have posted their info on the other page, you will automatically have one on the new page without anything being done. - With the new page, each member who has a page will have the ability to maintain it on their own if they wish. I am creating an account, so if you are interested, email me I will send you how to get to the page, your log in information and password. If you do not wish to maintain your page, it will remain the same just a bit more "snazzy" looking. - For those who do not have their info posted online yet but wish to, email me with your info and i will create a page for you. Again, basic just the info you send, but you can choose to update it once its setup. I appreciate everyone's patience about the website.. I have about 10 more pages to create for researchers so over the next weekend I hope to have it complete. I have a couple of links that no longer work on the links page. If those are your page, please let me know if you have changed address or if you want the link removed. Thanks, Frances Love DNA Project Coordinator

Lou: Question - could the Robert who died 1784 and who had Clayton Rogers as his administrator have been a brother to your James and "my" English Bill? Somebody sent me a list of his descendants once and they listed a son, Robert Jr., b. ca 1717. I didn't know we had determined the parentage of Benjamin! I had always sort of thought he might be kin to us. He was surely a neighbor of our guys. The followins message was for Bob who sent information on the Love/King connection back in 1999. However, his e-mail is no longer any good. If anyone else on the Love list has this same set of Love's, I will be glad to send the information on Agness Love, dau. of John Love and Margaret "Peggy" King Love. Betty Mc 9:57 PM Subject: Love/King Hi: Lou Love sent me some information on my Love family and it looks like you may have been the one who sent it to him, or to the Love list. I descend down through John Love who married Margaret "Peggy" King Love, through their daughter, Agness Love. Agness Love had an illegitimate child, Mahalia Elizabeth Johnson Willcoxson. The father was John Johnson, Jr. of Wilkes County. A relative of mine hired a genealogist to research this for her. The genealogist said that John Johnson acknowledged Mahalia Elizabeth, and that he supported her, but Agness and John Johnson did not marry. Later, Agness married Isaac Willcoxson, and they had other children. Mahalia Eliz. went by the last name of Willcoxson. If you sent the information to the Love family which one of the sons of John and Margaret "Peggy" Love do you descend down from? If you are interested I can give you the information from Mahala Elizabeth on down. I also have some information on the King family, parents of Margaret "Peggy" Kind Love. Would like to hear from you and exchange information. Betty McCollum ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lou, Not that line. I descend from that James through son Jonah, brother of Pat's Charles Love. Also, The middle name for this James has for a long time been believed to be "Allison." That is based on misunderstanding of record. Another James, likely son of Thomas Love or possibly even James in GA should be credited with being named "James Allison Love." Also, the original James Love did marry to a person named Elizabeth. But a misinterpreation of an indenture dower clause led people to wrongly identify her maiden name to be "Crook." Their son John did marry Ruth Crook. Anyhow, within five miles of where our James Love settled in now Cabarrus County ca. 1790, another James Love moved and lived there ca. 1772-1784. There are Rev. War Vouchers in Mecklenburg for James Love. Some have believed that our James served in the Rev. War and that the voucher was proof. That is wrong in that our James's son John served "in his father's place" enlisting in his home county of Wilkes NC. This other James is a mystery revealed whose life was obscured by my families inclusion of his record as being that of their own ancestor. My effort here is to breath life into this line that surely survived up through today. He left Pa sometime in the 1730's and was well established in Chester, SC by 1750's. Maybe this is the so-called English branch of Love's - not the Scots/Irish bunch mine's associated with. Later, Lou geothos@bellsouth.net wrote: Lou, Not that line. Mickey, The following is not pertaining to the James Love family who moved from VA through Stokes to now Cabarrus along the Rocky River near where it crosses highway 24-27. Another James Love settled twenty years earlier about ten miles upstream on the Rocky River. His grant was a 1778 Sec. State land grant issued after usold lands of the deceased Arthur Dobbs were taken back by the state. Some of the land in this region was even granted back in the 1750's by Gov. Glenn of SC. This James Love owned land on the south side of Rocky River in the Rocky River Presbyterian Community about a mile west of where Hwy 601 crosses. John Love, (I believe to be son of James) owned land opposite the river from James Love. In the same day, a William Love received a grant for land on Goose Creek about 15 miles south. He had ties to Donnelson and others who moved on through SC. Note that the Catawba and Charleston highway crossed the Rocky River between where the early and later James Love settled. Many from the area moved out down the highway and settled from the Waxaws of SC to the Union County area. I have no idea that this LOVE family is linked to yours. But I do believe it was a large family that lived in Cumberland County NC prior to 1772. I also believe they moved into the Abbeville area of SC ca. 1784. Somewhere down the line, we should be seeing DNA results for this family. I wonder if any LOVE researches have looked into the Abbeville district Love family.
