    1. LOVE, James - b. ca. 1780 - d. GA
    2. Gil Murray
    3. It has been suggested that James' name was originally LOWE with the O an umlaut. Meaning lion in German. Has anyone run into this crossover. I personally doubt it since most of my ancestors were Scots-Irish. Any ideas? LOVE, James b. ca 1780 ch. Ingraham, John (md. Mary Love 1808 Jasper Co. GA), James, Mary, Elizabeth Happy hunting, Gil

    1. Delaware Co, NY LOVEs
    2. Is anyone else researching the Delaware County, NY LOVEs which started with Samuel and Sarah and children immigrating from Ireland in 1817? I have several generations starting in Delhi, NY and then Tompkins and Walton. But I don't know from where in Ireland they immigrated. Does anyone know where other LOVE families that came to the US about that time, came from in Ireland or what ports they might have shipped out of? Pam

    1. Dedimyra LOVE? in Dooly/Mitchell Cos., GA
    2. Mary Kathryn Kozy
    3. I am looking for anyone that might have more information on a LOVE family that settled in this part of Georgia. The data I have on this family is that Dedimyra (or Dedemiah) LOVE (surname could be NETTLES too, we obviously aren't _real_ clear on who this lady was! <G>) md. Enoch SHIVER in the mid-1820's. Dedimyra is a widow living with her children, (including my ancestor, her oldest son, John W. SHIVER) in the 1850 Baker Co., GA Census, though the ages are all messed up and it looks like they are husband and wife. By 1860 in Mitchell Co., GA she is living next door to John W. and his wife and children and the ages appear to be correct (she is 56). She and Enoch had the following children: John W., Rebecca, Marion Harmon, Ransom, Martha Ann, Polly, James and Eliza. Can anyone tell me about her family or where to find more information on this line? I'd be happy to share what I know about this family with anyone who is interested! Thanks! Mary Kathryn Kozy Kent, WA mkozy@ibm.net

    2. Hi Mickey, Got your post this morning. I am curious about this. Is it an off-spring of the one Albert Love did years ago? He knew everything there was to know about Loves. How much is the newsletter and what does it include? How many issues? Off to Norfolk on Sat for convention. Absolutely have to get my things ready today! Gale

    1. David Love
    2. Caroline, We know of a David Love, listed in the will of John Love, of Mecklenburg County, North Carolina as follows: "And I do give & bequeath to my well beloved son David & Christopher Love the plantation whereon I now live to be enjoyed by them in full possession at the death of my wife..." It is known that David Love went down to Green County Georgia (he did not stay on the plantation). He was considered eccentric (an important addition to any Southern Family) and has children with unusual names such as "Robertus". I, and other researchers, are looking at these Meckenburg County Loves, to see if they are ours. I am not sure this David is yours, but this David did go to Georgia....
