LOVE, HANNAH.....need to find parentage of Hannah who died by 1784 in what was orginally Lunenburg Co.,VA (later in Pittsylvania Co., VA). Married John AUSTIN, SR. b. c. 1695 -1700, circa (need marriage date and place in VA??). John AUSTIN, Sr. d. by 1760 in Lunenburg Co., VA and left his estate to heirs, one being his son, Joseph AUSTIN of Pittsylvania Co., VA (who died in 1810). Hannah was given a home and land to live on by Austin (perhaps a separation here) on which she lived until her death about 1783 to 1784. Her son, Joseph was the administrator of her estate. Allied lines that connect are Love, Austin, Hankins, Covington, Dearing, Blankenship, Thompson, Coleman, McBee, Bennett, Pruit/Prewett in Halifax, Charlotte, Stafford, Lunenburg, Brunswick, Pittsylvania and Henrico Counties, VA. some of these lines moved to NC and into TN later. I'm searching for any information on my GGrandfather Calvin Sylvanis Love; he was born in Greene Co. Tennessee in 1879 to William and Mary Love; he had a younger sister Eliza and possibly other siblings. He went by Jack and believe he was a barber by trade. Jack married Teatsy E. Keene on May 29, 1910 in Miller Co. Arkansas. They had two daughters: Mary Elizabeth Love and Jacqueline Virginia Love. They divorced around 1922. Calvin was living in or around Bowie Co. Texarkana the early 1920's. Rumor had it that he died in a car wreck somewhere between the Rio Grande Valley and Texarkana around 1923, but have found no proof. I've recently found out that Abigail Beale b 12 Sept 1826 Ky to William and Marfagret( Love) Beale. Her mothers name was Love. Does it ring any bells for any one. William was born 1791 in NY and Margaret 1800 bbut not sure where. Hope some one has info onn this. I do know that william and Margaret died in Rush Co , Ind. and Abigail married Hugh Stewart Fleehart. Thanks Lyda

Hi Bob, We have an Allen Love b. abt 1800 probably in SC came to AL in abt 1815 and had land in ST.Clair Co. AL in the 1820's. He left AL shortly thereafter, legend says TX. This sounds suspiciously like your Allen but we think his parents were Samuel Love who married Elizabeth Nations 1789 in Mecklenburg Co. NC. I see two Allens on the 1830 AL census. Is yours the one in Lowndes Co. ? Ted

Seeking info abt 4th gr grnfa Isaac Love b c1779 SC, d 1830, Pickens Co. AL. Need proof that the "grand son Isack Love" named in the 1793 will of Benjamin Love (1723-1795) of Chester Co. SC is my ances. Benjamin only names a dau (Elizabeth) & two sons, (James,John), stating that his 3 chn have not "come of ago." Benjamin prob had a 1st marr. c1745-55, in (?) PA/VA/Ire, & had chn. Robert Love who lived near Benjamin may have been an older son. In 1775 this Robert served in the New Acquistion Militia of SC, & he enlisted in the 5th Regmt of SC in Mar 1776. On 9 June 1784 Mary Love, Robert's widow, filed for administration of his estate, but facts abt his death have not been ascertained. Mary Love is on the 1790 cen for Chester Co. SC with 2 ma und age 16 & prob these are the "two grand sons Benjamin & Isack Love" named in the older Benjamin Love's will. Did Mary Love remarry aft 1790; if so, to whom? Need to know the surname of Nancy, Isaac Love's wf. My 3rd gr grnfa's middle name was SYLVESTER, also, my gr grnfa's. Suspect that SYLVESTER was surname of an ancesl granmo. Mr Wilson asked about information on Hugh love family. I have the book by Kara Lee Coldiron written in 1990 about my line of Loves. She has included a few other Loves and it seems that Hugh is one of those. On pg 38 of her book is information sent to her by William S. Love 641 Snow St. Oxford Al 36203 -- Brunswick Co. Va. Hugh Love's will dated 28 April 1779 name three sons: Edward, John and William and one daughter Mary. Edward --m-- Lucy Harrison 5 Nov 1793 Brunswick Co. John ---m---Frances Harrison 22 May 1798 " Mary --m--Thomas Harrison 24 May 1790 " William ? John and Francis were in Georgia by 1820 and died there. All of their children were married there. Mr Love provided data for the Willam Love of Wythe Co. who married 1) Elizabeth Gannaway and 2) Sarah Gannaway but he is covered elsewhere in relation to decendant Letha Knoch. He found this William's Will in Hardin Co. Ky dated Nov 1834 and proved July 1837. Will book D pages 253-259 Mr Love also provided the following. I do not know if this is isolated or if it fits with the William, son of Hugh, of Brunswick Co. William Love -m- Mary Railey 1 feb 1814 Pittsylvania Co.
