    1. Re: [LOVE-L] Re: Charles Love
    2. There is a petition in early Cabarrus County NC signed by Charles Love. He later witnessed a deed before moving to Rutherford County before 1800. His father James Love recieved a land grant adjoining lands owned by Jonathan Osborne. Jonathan is the son of Christopher Osborne. There is a Christopher Osborne (father of Jonathan) who left a will in late 1780's Mecklenburg County NC. He names daughter Fervy. Charles Love married Fervy or Fereby ca. 1792 about the time Cabarrus was cut from Mecklenburg County. Charles had son James who had son Cristopher Osborne Love. Charles also had sons Ingram and others whose names reflect their ancestral roots. Charles Love is likely named for what appears to be a Charles Love found in records of Halifax County VA. When James, the father of our Charles, left Halifax County for NC, he sold land to a Charles Love. I believe he may be a younger brother who died young. But for sure Charles is the son of James and Mary Ingram Love. His sisters married in Cabarrus County in the Howell family. The Howell's also intermarrired with Osborne and also moved to western NC among the hills of Haywood County. > > From: "Pat Stubblefield" <[email protected]> > Date: 2003/03/19 Wed PM 06:38:21 EST > To: [email protected] > Subject: [LOVE-L] Re: Charles Love > > I have found several researchers who are claiming Charles Love, b ca 1765, > d 1835 Rutherford Co., NC, mar Fereby (Osborn, Ingram) to be the son of > Amos I, b 1705 Northumberland Co., VA and Mary Ingram (dau of Charles Ingram > and Elizabeth Dameron). 3. I have found several researchers who are claiming Charles Love, b ca 1765, d 1835 Rutherford Co., NC, mar Fereby (Osborn, Ingram) to be the son of Amos I, b 1705 Northumberland Co., VA and Mary Ingram (dau of Charles Ingram and Elizabeth Dameron). I've been researching this line for the past 22 years and have yet to find the link between them. Has someone found something I haven't. I would LOVE to connect them as I have lots of info on the Amos line. Now I've found info that says Fereby is the daughter of Richard Ingram, died in Johnston Co., NC 1781. He did have a dau Pheriby but I have found nothing else on her. Richard's will listed wife Annie, sons John, Abner and William, daus Pheriby INGRAM, Mary LEE, Elizabeth AVERA and Zilpha AVERA. 2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Xcx.2ACIB/1660.1 Message Board Post: Hi Harold, Have you learned anything about Levi and Eunice Waldo Love? I have been trying to trace the descendants of Adam Love and Levi fits into that line. My husband's ancestor, Clinton Love was born in 1804 in NY, married Mary Stalker also b NY and they migrated to WI. in the mid 1800's. They lived for a while in Rock co., and I suspect in Waukesha at one time since that is where one of their daughters was married. The migration route of this family and their affiliated families seemed to be New London CT., to Onondaga and Chautauqua Counties in NY., Huron Co., OH, and then to Wisconsin. Jeremiah, Leonard, and Horace Love all received land patents issued on the same day in Rock County, WI., and this land was adjoining parcels. I am sure they were related, and since Clinton followed them shortly after that, I think he must be a relative also. I think your Levi descends from Adam's son Robert and Susan Blanchard Love. I think Clinton may descend from his son John and Lavina Tree Love. I do have a list of Levi's children, but it is one from a family tree listing on Genealogy.com, so I have no verification. If you have any information at all concerning any of Adam's descendants, I would be grateful to know about it, and of course, I have some data to share if you are interested in possible cousins of Levi's (however, unconfirmed.) Nanie was a full blood Chickasaw. I know who Alice LOVE's parents are, but I don't have any births or deaths on the three above. Alice LOVE was the first wife of Alexander Commodore Kemp, Nanie's father. Nanie must have passed away around 1895, in Kemp, Okla. Anything would be helpful. They are looking for Males with surname Love who are willing to be tested and have the money to pay for the test. Later on they hope to have some money donated so that people who could not afford the test might be tested. The person who has volunteered to manage this project can be reached for details Rikki Love [email protected] The test consists of wiping a cotton swab around inside the cheek and mailing it to FTDNA . The test is strictly for genealogy purposes. People would be identified by Number.
