The only Samuel I have found are from the line of Gabriel Love, who immigrated with his brother Adam from antrim Ireland ca. 1730. I think our Clinton is from this line, but so far, no luck in proving that theory. I will certainly keep an open eye for the name of Charles Henry, and I will keep your name in my files. If I do find your Charles, I will certainly let you know. Here's hoping! Shirley

As stated in the note Albro (Hershal) Love was the brother of my g/father Alonzo Delbert Love. Albro was born June, 1895 in Missouri. Parents were Albert Royal Love and Alice Elizabeth Winters. All of the siblings were Arden Benjamin, Alonzo Delbert, Albro, Arthur and Albert Mervin. The family moved to the Walters, Oklahoma area with Albro being the only one to move to the Tonkawa, OK area. Albert Mervin died on the streets of Midland, TX, Albert Royal and wife Elizabeth are buried in Walters, OK, assuming the Arden Benjamin is buried in Walters also, have not found any tracks of Arthur, and my g/father Alonzo is another long story. He disappeared after the 1910 census and was in Lincoln, NE. Parents of Albert Royal are Charles Henry Love and Ann Eliza Miranda James. I don't have a Jeremiah Love in my database. Do you have anything on Charles Henry Love? He was born in 1819, Greece, New York. Hope we can be of help to each other. Ruth

Hi All, I have been working on a statistical breakdown of the current Love DNA results- -elementary to be sure. I find a strong correlation between Kits 8313,8336,8302 and 8456. I have used data from Kit 8302 as a baseline. Seems to me there is a stronger, more current, relationship here than, perhaps, 60 or so generations. More to come in the ensuing days. Will be happy to share data with anyone interested. w.

Hello, all! I know many of you have Irish roots and thought this might help. The National Archives now has electronic data going on line. This particular data base covers the following material (this a partial description pasted from the AAD site): These materials identify 604,596 persons who arrived in the United States, 1846-1851, and the ships on which they arrived. The project that created them identifies the materials as the Famine Irish Collection; their published version limits the immigrants to persons who arrived at the port of New York, 1846-1851. Approximately 30 percent of the passenger records list the native country as other than Ireland. These include Canada, Brazil, Saint Croix, Russia, Morocco, the United States and countries throughout Europe. http://aad.archives.gov/aad/title_list.jsp Click PEOPLE Click: Famine Irish Data Files, 1977? - 1989? You can search by name - there are 128 Love entries. Or, you can get the ship's manifests by code and browse them one by one. Happy time travels! Susan

They had at least 3 children; Charles "Charlie"(born 1892) Margaret (born 1895) and Augusta E (born 1903). Sol and family moved to Alamance County. He died sometime after 1930. Charlie and Augusta were still single on the Alamance 1830 census. Does anyone have any further info on Sol Love's descendants? It would be most appreciated. My great-grandpa had 5 siblings and I have found living descendants for all but Augusta and Solomon. Nancy Jones
Rikki, We are terribly sorry to hear about an illness in your family. We just didn't know what in the world had happened to you. You certainly don't need to apologize for not being there. Our thoughts and words were not meant in anger but in frustration and impatience and also concern to you and our inability to contact you. Everyone will understand and wish you well. We got the results by "hook or crook" and that will do . Please post to the list when you can and let us know how you are doing. Meanwhile our thoughts and prayers are with you. Hello all, First I would like to say that I am sorry for the delay in posting any results for the DNA Testing. We have had an illness in the family that has prohibited me from doing anything but tending to that recently. That is still no excuse, and I can not really give you good people a definate date as to when things may calm down any. I am actually home for just a couple of days and then again, will be off for only the good Lord knows how long. I have went ahead and updated the website with all of the test results that I have received. I have been going through Love-L mailings for the past couple of hours and have noticed that several people have been getting a little perturb, to those, I issue another apology. In one of the postings by Mary Russell she had made reference to certain tests that were pending, we have only had 7 people send their kits back for testing. Those results are now posted. I will try and do better, but can make no promises. I will keep all abreast the best that I can. Once again, I am sorry. Rikki

Our family made the landrun into the Cherokee Strip in 1893 and they were living in Kay County, Oklahoma in Blackwell which is about 9 miles from Tonkawa at the time that your family was there. Our ggrandfather Jeremiah Love had a younger brother named Albert, Most of Albert's children settled in WI, and MT., but one son, Joseph Clinton Love was born in South Haven, KS. in 1898. South Haven is just a few miles north of Blackwell, OK., where we currently live. Joseph Clinton Love married Martha Pearce. There was another son of Albert's born in 1895 named Edward Love, but he died as a small child. John Edward Love, another son, was born in 1904, probably in South Haven, Kansas also, but my information shows that he died in MT. He married Ada Pfeifle in 1932. Jeremiah's son, George Love was our grandfather and he had two sons, Edwin Ellsworth Love and Ernest Michael Love (our father) who were both born in KS. before the Land Run in 1893. I am wondering if your Loves might have been descendants of Edwin Ellsworth Love. I could find only three children for him: George T. Love 1906 Claud Ellsworth 1907 Elizabeth Louise 1909 Just a few years ago there was a Bob and Ginger Love who had a doughnut shop in Blackwell, and I think earlier in Tonkawa. My husband's mother mentioned that they were distant cousins.....I do not know who Bob's parents were, but I thought he sprang from either Joseph Clinton or John Edward Love. Do any of these names sound familiar to you? 'Shirley Love
Thanks to everyone who took the time to explain this to me. I really appreciate the heads-up. This is all new to me. Thanks again, ~Michelle
You can find that information at this URL http://www.infokey.com/hon/tartans.htm LOVE is not a clan on its own, it is a SEPT of the Clan MacKinnon LOVE, Mackinney, Mackinning, Kackinvan, MacMorran. If you will look at the GenForum Love Family Forum, I seem to recall a long post with the history of the surname. It's down right now or I would give you the message number. Hope that helps some! Happy time travels! Susan
Hi Everyone, This may be a silly question, but why can't I find LOVE under any Scottish clan sites? Is there a popular site for LOVE genealogy I might try? Thanks ~Michelle
I have 5 male "Love" cousins...all of who I don't see anymore...I perhaps could talk an uncle into it...he and I have a good relationship [not that I have a bad relationship with my cousins..more like no relationship]...but it would take a lot of donations...as I want my husband and or son tested as well for another family project I have on the go....we'll just see what happens...perhaps if this gets more popular...which I think it's going to...it may become cheaper.... the problem with us is...we're not retired...we still have mortages...etc , etc...our outlook is that money should be spent on other things first...and this type of thing is definitely a luxury at the moment...but we'll see....perhaps I'll windfall.... But I requested donations for my birthday. I'll do it again at Christmas. My relatives think I'm a little nuts, but giving me money is easier to do than shop for a gift (for which my male relatives are particularly grateful). > > My brother thinks I'm nuts too, but he consented to do the test "as long as I don't have to go anywhere to do it." That's because he loves me, not because he's at all interested in the DNA. Do you have a male first cousin? Could somebody tell me what is actually involved in these tests. My brother is absolutely refusing, calling it "nonsense." I know for a fact he has a thing about needles. Would I be honest in telling him this is not painful? Truth to tell, he has very little interest in genealogy anyhow. His wife and daughter try to pay attention and not have their eyes glaze over when I rattle on. He usually gets busy elsewhere. Hi, I am interested in all this new DNA testing, however, as a female I can't participate in this type of testing, I was interested in having my husband's DNA tested [for another family] and then discovered the price...being in Oz I would basically have to double the price....perhaps when the cost of such tests come within reach of some of us, then other's will be able to participate.. Lynda [Aust] Have a great Day!
Mary, I use a spam filter too, but i have established a "safe"list, there is no need for anyone to respond to emails...the filter simply uses my address list to establish the filter....people should look more closely at the software they are choosing as to whether it is "user friendly" before they run them.....it's not the responsiblity of rootsweb or you to add people to some sort of filter system.., it's the responsibility of the people running the software to make sure they receive the mail they want to..
