Sue, you are certainly on the right list. We wouldn't want you to leave. There has not been a connection between the Joseph's yet. Part of the reason for the Y-DNA tests is to try and find the connections between our early Loves. Right now the one man that tested from the Joseph/Mary Teas line did not match the man that is from the line from Joseph /Margaret Bryan to Joseph II/Mary Marshall-- I don't have the details on that line since we have not proven the connection. These Loves were in the same areas and , John, son of Joseph and Margaret was bound out after Joseph died to Joseph/Mary Teas Since these are not my Loves someone will have to tell me if there was a Benjamin J. Love. I don't have see one in the few sheets I have. Good idea! My nearest LOVE to be born with the name was Mary who died in 1801 in Chester County, SC. She had married Samuel WRIGHT and had two sons. It is provable that she was the daughter of: John LOVE who died in 1799 in Chester. He left wife Elizabeth (possibly ROYALL); three sons John Royal, William and Samuel who was minor at the time of John's death and four daughters, my Mary, Elizabeth, Margaret and Jean. The latter three daughters were all called by the surname LOVE in John's will so were either unmarried or married to other LOVES. I cannot prove it but there is a pretty good circumstantial case to be made that John was the son of William "English Bill" LOVE who had his teeth knocked out by the Patriots in July 1780 and apparently died soon thereafter. Also, if ya'll want to hear some more of what I think, I think John may have been a brother to the Benjamin LOVE who died in Chester the same year. Mostly just because Benjamin cannot be claimed by Alexander or James' family and we know he was pretty closely allied with the other LOVEs, GASTONs, BROWNs and other cohorts. That may never be proven, though. And a question: Does anyone have a complete list of English Bill's children? We can pretty much prove Thomas who escaped from the barn and went to live with the Cherokee, James who was killed crossing the river and a daughter who married Mr. Sadler. My direct LOVE line: Sarah Lewis, daughter of: Alta Marie PALMER [1932-1997], daughter of: Edgar Lawson Palmer & Agnes WEBB [1906-1994]- who was the daughter of: William Scott Baker Webb & Clara Mabel SMITH [1875-1952] - who was the daughter of: Wallace Garner Smith & Diana Adeline LOVE [1846-1908] - who was the daughter of: Margaret Wear & Alexander Preston LOVE [1810-1863] - who was the son of: Mary Lewis & Isaac Love [1753-1854] and as I have posted recently: My LOVE brick wall: Isaac Love, b.6 Sep 1783, in Virginia; married Mary Lewis, daughter of Mordecai Lewis and Mary Segler (Ziegler) - married in Sevier, Tennessee. (Children: William King, James Thomas, Alexander Preston, Andrew Martin, Mary Lewis, Mordecai Lewis, (baby girl), Reuben Blount, Sally KenCannon, Isaac Moore, Elizabeth Thompson, Catherine McDonald, Margaret Mitchell Wear, John Wesley) *I have had one source tell me that Isaac Love was the son of William Love and Susanna McDonald - both of Ronoake Virginia, but, it seems no one else has ever heard or seen record of this William Love. According to the information given to me regarding William Love - b. abt 1756, his children: Joseph, William, John J, Mary, Catherine, Isaac [my Isaac?], and Andrew. - these children all born between 1775 and 1785 - in Virginia. *I have had a few suggestions that this William Love - who married Susanna McDonald - might well be the son of Joseph H. Love and Margaret Bryan. I know that Joseph Love and Margaret Bryan DID have a William Love, born abt 1756, but I know nothing else about him. Can anyone add to or dispute this information? Those of us who have been on the list for years may not be paying enough attention to the members who just joined. New subscribers join the list daily and some old members drop out.
