They were married 11 May 1828 in Sanquhar Parish, Dumfriesshire. Their headstone in Sanquhar Churchyard states that Josiah died 17 February 1846 aged 49 and Mary died 4 August 1846 aged 39. I would like to know who his parents were and if any of his children got married if anyone has that information. The children of Josiah Lorimer and his wife, Mary Cook were all born in Sanquhar Parish and were: Mary Lorimer, born 16 August 1828; died 20 February 1859 Ann Lorimer, born 11 November 1829 Janet Fowles (or Fowlis) Lorimer "Jessie", born 12 January 1831; died 26 November 1901 Margaret Lorimer, born 23 August 1832; died 15 July 1912 George Lorimer, born 1 April 1834 Elizabeth Gordon Lorimer, born 9 June 1836 Jane Lorimer, born 10 June 1837 Jamima (or Jemima) Lorimer, born 9 March 1839; died 13 June 1839 James Cook Lorimer, born 25 April 1841; died 5 July 1881 Charles Scott Lorimer, born 18 June 1843; died 10 July 1927 Thomas Lorimer, born approximately 1846; died 4 March 1848 On the 1851 census Mary, George, Elizabeth, Jean, Jessy, James and Charles were living together in Sanquhar Parish were living together in Sanquhar and were all unmarried. I am related to the Lorimer families of Kirkconnel and Sanquhar Parishes.
