John Lorimer (son of William Lorimer and his wife, Jean Wightman) was born September 8, 1845 at Auchensow farm in Sanquhar Parish, Dumfriesshire, Scotland and died January 2, 1912 in Kansas, United States of America. He moved to the United States between 1851 and 1870. He married Mary A. Baker (Law) before 1870 in Missouri, U.S.A. He and Mary had 5 children before she died in 1882. The 1880 census lists John, Mary, and their children in Mission, Brown County, Kansas: John Lorimer, head, married, age 35, born Scotland; Mary Lorimer, married, age 36, born Missouri; William Lorimer, age 10, born Missouri; Robert Lorimer, age 9, born Kansas; Jenneat Lorimer, age 6, born Kansas; Ellen Lorimer, age 4, born Kansas; Albert Lorimer, age 2, born Kansas. He married Julia Yose on October 10, 1883 in Hiawatha, Brown County, Kansas, U.S.A. She was born in approxi! mately 1844. He and Julia were divorced. He married Mary Louisa Kinder on December 1, 1891 in Hiawatha, Brown County, Kansas, U.S.A. Mary was born November 8, 1858 in Smithville, Illinois and died March 3, 1943 in Kansas. The children of John Lorimer and his first wife, Mary A. Baker (Law) were: - William Lorimer, born March 27, 1870 in Missouri, U.S.A. He died April 29, 1956 and was buried in McCook, Red Willow County, Nebraska, U.S.A. - Robert Lorimer, born February 2, 1872 in Willis, Brown County, Kansas, U.S.A. He died June 5, 1953 in Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, U.S.A. and was buried June 10, 1953 in Rose Hill Cemetery, Corpus Christi, Nueces County, Texas, U.S.A. - Jeanette Lorimer, born in 1874 in Willis, Brown County, Kansas, U.S.A.
