Alexander (son of William Lorimer and his wife, Jean Wightman) was born July 12, 1836 in Sanquhar Parish, Dumfriesshire, Scotland and died July 12, 1909 on the Isle of Wight, England. He married Jane Elizabeth Sansom on March 15, 1864 at Aston Juxta, Birmingham, Warwick, England. The 1881 census lists Alexander, Jane, and their children at Tormoham, Devonshire, England: Alexander Lorimer, head of house, married, age 44, Occupation:- Hotel Keeper, born Sanquhar Parish, Dumfries County, Scotland; Jane Elizabeth Lorimer, wife, married, age 43, born Dartington, Glouchester; Alexander H. Lorimer, son, age 14, born Newton Abbot, Devonshire; Ida K. H. Lorimer, daughter, age 16, born Newton Abbot, Devonshire. The rest of their children were listed in the household of Helen Sansom. Alexander moved to the Isle of Wight, England and ! died there July 12, 1909. The children of Alexander Lorimer and his wife, Jane Elizabeth Sansom are: - Ida Katherine Helen Lorimer, born February 17, 1865 in Newton Abbott, Devonshire, England. She died February 22, 1945. - Alexander Hubert or Hubert Alexander Lorimer, born June 15, 1866 in Newton Abbott, Devonshire, England. On the 1881 census she was listed in the home of her Uncle Robert Lorimer at 59 Fore Street, Totnes, Devon: Gertrude M. L. Lorimer, age 13, niece of head, born Torquay, Devon. She died in 1952. - Beatrice Maud Drury Lorimer, born January 5, 1870 in Torre, Devonshire, England. She is listed on the 1881 census at the home of her Aunt (Helen Sansom) at Plainmoor Terrace, Newton Abbott, St. Mary Church, Devonshire, England. - Hew Hamilton Lorimer, born November 2, 1871 in Paignton, Devonshire, England.
