My uncle, Russell Howard Looney, son of Joel David Looney and Bonnie Reta Patton Looney died Saturday, 8 Jul 00, from cancer. His obituary follows: Dr. Russell Howard Looney, 79, of Texarkana, Texas, died Saturday, July 8, 2000, at his residence. Dr. Looney was born March 5, 1921, in New Boston, Texas, and had lived in Texarkana for many years. He was a retired dentist and a member of the Texas Dental Association, American Dental Association, Firtst District Dental Society, American College of Denistry, Academy of General Denisty. He also was a Mason, a US WW II Army-Combat Engineer and a member of the VFW and First United Methodist Church, Arkansas. Dr. Looney was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Byron Looney and Dr. David Lewis Looney. Survivors include his wife, Josephine (Joey) Borselino Looney of Texarkana; one sone and dauther-in-law, Dr. Mark Allen Looney and Lisa Looney of Texarkana, one daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Ron Clemo of Fort Smith, Arkansas; four brothers, Dr. James Lynn Looney, Esric Dillard Looney, and Ennis McGee Looney , all of New Boston, Texas and Pleas Patton Loooney of Montgomery, Alabama; two sisters, Bonnie Atkins of Texarkana and Ina Porterfield or Midland, Texas; four grandchildren, Kyle Curtis, Holly Curtis, Russell Looney and Robert Looney. Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2000 at the Cabe Center at First United methodist church, Arkansas, with the Rev. Michael clayton and the Rev. Blake Bradford officiating.
