from: �Acts Passed at the First Session of the Fourteenth General Assembly at the State of Tennessee.� Chapter CXC1 An Act for the relief of Peter Looney late Sheriff of Bledsoe County. Whereas it is made appear to this General Assembly that Peter Looney, sheriff and collector of the public taxes of Bledsoe County, for the years 1808, and 1810, was compelled to pay the sum of fifty three dollars eighty-five cents, the amount of state tax which was reported to the Treasurer of East Tennessee on insolvencies which accrued within said years, which sum the said Treasurer refused to refund without legislative direction; therefore, Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Tennessee, That the Treasurer of East Tennessee be and he is hereby authorised to refund to Peter Loney the sum of fifty-three dollars eight-five cents being the amount of state tax paid in to the Treasurer by said Peter Looney on two 5,000 acre tracts of land in the name of Josiah Danforth, for 1808, and 178 acres in three tracts, in the name of William D Nelson, two tracts of 5,000 acres in the name of Thomas Lynn, also in the name of Thomas Swann, John Mc�Iver three tracts of 5,000 acres each, as also one 5,000 acre tract in the name of William I. Hall and John Mc�Iver, and the receipt of said Peter Looney shall be a good voucher for said Treasurer in the settlement of his accounts. JNO. H.
