    1. Looney DNA project re Jonathan and Jane Looney
    2. For those of you that claim Jonathan and Jane Harbison Looney as parents of the Randolph Co., AR, Joseph Looney (m. Thena Stubblefield) and Martha Ann Looney Stubblefield, I offer the following info. Bill has entered the Looney DNA project by proxy. We have a direct male descendent at this same family connection who has agreed to provide the DNA for this line since Bill diverged off at his Grandmother Thena Elizabeth Looney (m. John Robert Clinging) and would not be a candidate for the Y DNA project. We hope this will give us a clue to this Joseph's real lineage. Those of you who have been on this bin for years have read my questioning queries on this connection. So much doesn't make sense and no paper trail to prove either way. If Jonathan and Jane prove to be the correct line for this Joseph Looney , instead of "eating my hat", I will gladly eat 1 dozen donuts at a sitting - to celebrate, of course. I would encourage any direct descendent of Robert Looney (1), who is not already participating in this project, to consider enrolling. The more enrolled, the better the overall info would be. Perhaps others in the family who cannot participate would be interested in sharing the fee for someone who can participate. Most of us would like to firm up these connections once and for all. 3. Nita, As you know, our Looney isn't Jonathan, but I'm curious about the following: What is the cost for a person to do the DNA, & what exactly must they do? In our Looney family, we only have two men (and one of them is seriously ill) that could do the DNA, if it is only followed from male to male. And, I'm not sure what good this DNA project would do for the rest of us (that descend from a female Looney) It still would not prove that we are connected to the family. :) Dianne ----- Original Message ----- From: <N5BRY@aol.com> To: <LOONEY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, December 26, 2005 9:36 AM Subject: Looney DNA project re Jonathan and Jane Looney > For those of you that claim Jonathan and Jane Harbison Looney as parents > of > the Randolph Co., AR, Joseph Looney (m.
