    3. 5 Feb, Dear Karen, Guess it sometimes pays to be a seasoned citizen! The name "grancer" is seen so often in some of my various family searches. It is a name of respect for the grandfather-Grand Sir. Over time and usage, it just evolves into the easiest family name, Grandsir, or Grancer. Phonics was picturesque back then.
