Pat, Elizabeth Looney had a nice fat file for Joseph Samuel Looney. Right in the front of this folder she has a Family Sheet showing his birthday as 21 Feb 1843, Muscle Shoals, Ala. He married Mary Elizabeth Justice 13 Dec. 1866 in Lowell, Ark. Joseph died 13 March 1922 and is buried in Good Springs Cemetery, Lowell, Ark. His parents were George Martin Looney and Lucinda Newton. Joseph had eight children by this marriage with only one son, James Frank Looney surviving to marriage age. James Frank Looney married Minnie Evans. The last submitter (there were others) to the above information was furnished by a great granddaughter, Leona V. Viggers, of Des Moines, IA (April, 1976) I hope this little bit of information helps. I'm still plugging away at this family trying to get Elizabeth's information into a GED format so I can figure out who belongs to who.
