    2. Hello there Yes Benjamin Looney III was my ggggrandfather, born in 1796 in Tenn. I am not sure who he was married to. It may have been a Holder but it was not Samantha Ann Holder she married Benjamins cousin whoes name was also Benjamin Looney. Some time around 1838-1840 Benjamins wife died and he was left to raise 9 children one of them being Anthony Stewart Looney born in 1825. There was also another Anthony Stewart (spelled Stuart) Looney born in 1833 they were cousins. I have alot of info on them and civil war records as well. I have my line all the way back to Robert Looney SR. If there is anything you would like let me know. I also have a family picture of most of Benjamin Looney III children. Steven D Looney

    3. The "P.A. Looney" Store was actually "F.A. Looney" Store. This was the store owned by Francis (Frank) A. Looney, who was born and raised in Lawrence County, Ala. coming to Bosque Co., Texas soon after the Civil War with his father, mother and siblings. F.A. Looney is my g-grandfather. Anthony Looney earlier sent me a copy of this picture and it appears to actually say "F.A. Looney & Sons", but it is extremely hard to make out clearly. Sitting in front center of the picture with his hat cocked back and with the banjo on his knee is my grandfather, Dennis A. Looney, son of F.A. Looney. I believe the others seated next to D.A. Looney with musical instruments are his brothers. F.A. Looney may be the older gentleman in the picture with the beard standing in the doorway directly behind D.A. Looney. F.A. Looney did have a beard and that gentleman is the only one in the picture with a beard. D.A. Looney married Emma McBride in Sourlake, TX in 1903 and later they named one of his daughters "Gladys Looney" after the town of Gladys City, Texas. This group of Looney's were predominately farmers and they moved all over Texas. My grandfather documented these moves in several letters and I have combined the letters posted the contents to my web site. The M.B. Looney in question is not one I recognize as being in my branch of the Looney family. Since an earlier note described him as coming from Dallas, I would suspect that he may be related to the Judge Benjamin F. Looney that was from Dallas and this Judge Looney furnished so much information to Leroy Tilton for his Looney Family Manuscripts. If anyone is unfamiliar with these manuscripts and would like to see a complete transcription of all 8 parts, please visit my web page at: http://home.flash.net/~johnsonl/ Larry W.
