submitted by Steve Looney **************************************** Ulysses Grant "Jack" Looney b:12/24/1918 AR - d:1/27/2005 MT (also known to family & friends back home as "Ulis" Looney) Ulysses Grant Looney, b:12/24/1918 in Warm Springs, Randolph County, Arkansas,and resident of Polson, Montana, d:1/27/2005 at St. Patrick Hospital, Missoula, Montana. He was the 5th of 9 children born to Jason Franklin Looney and Ida Bell Johnson-Looney, both of Randolph County, Arkansas. He grew up in Arkansas, then moved to California where he was a meet cutter at Safeway and at Norton Air Force Base. Ulysses Looney married Virginia Webber 9/14/1942 in Los Angeles, CA. Ulysses and Virginia were longtime residents of Big Bear Lake, CA., where they owned and managed Alpine Lodge. Virgina Webber-Looney passed away 1981 in Big Bear Lake, CA. Ulysses relocated to Polson, MT circa 1988. Ulysses is survived by three sisters, Rhoda Elwanda Riley of Kentucky, Juanita Nacsin of Massachusetts, and Bonnie Doran of Arkansas, and one brother, Clifton C. Looney of Montana.
