I'm often confused about the origins of the Looney/Luna name myself. Some people swear that it's old Irish, and now some people say that it's originally Spanish, from the time of the inquisition. Reminds me of the story I heard about a white girl trying to speak Spanish at her Hispanic boyfriend's house. She wanted to say that she was embarrassed (to attempt speaking another language). What she managed to say was that she was "embarrasada", which in Spanish means "pregnant". That REALLY took some explaining...
