    2. Someone once told me that the GREENWAY and the Isom LOONEY families were connected, but did not know how. I thought I would see if anyone on this list knows. I saw this real estate transaction in a book at my library yesterday, so it makes me think they might be connected-- !"Washington Co TN Deeds 1797-1817 Vol 3" located at Mid-Continent Libary on 24 Hwy in Independence, MO, page 47: "p. 61-2 8/8/1800. JAMES GRAYHAM, Green Co. TO WILLIAM GREENWAY/GRINWAY, 57.5 acres. CONS: $400. ADJ: Cyres Broyls. SIG: James Grayham. WIT: John Holly , Isom Looney." Thanks. 1. William J Looney b Sept 15, 1800
    2. Does anyone know anything about this man? I believe he is the second eldest son of Isom Looney (Benjamin, Robert Jr., Robert Sr). This family went from TN to Jackson Co, AL, then to Greene Co, MO, and finally to St Clair Co, MO. I do not know whether this son moved with the rest of the family or not. I can't find anything on him. I know he died prior to the death of his father in 1850. I do not know whom he married, but I think these may be names of some of his children: Edward Anna Elizabeth Mary Sarah William Thanks very much. Dee

    2. Mickey and others: There are several survivor sites you could check. WAFB in Baton Rouge (www.wafb.com) and the Red Cross run two of them. Commuication is still difficult. Our New Orleans cell phones still don't work half the time. The land-lines are also overloaded and under-powered. Computers also are having problems--much depends on the servers. I know this is off-topic. Sorry. If anyone'd like more information, contact me privately at soheyrazar@cox.net. We will be travelling back to Baton Rouge the next couple of days and I'll probably be off-line. To make this a bit on topic, are there any other Looney's who are homeless refugees like me? Also, we will be going back to an apartment in Baton Rouge and I will be able to go to the LA Archives there. If anyone would like anything checked/looked up, please let me know. 3. Does anyone have information on HARVE CLINTON LOONEY? I have no dates on him. Found his name on the back of a picture (picture was not of him, tho) in a museum today. As I am a LOONEY/LUNEY researcher, I am curious who Harve Clinton Looney might be descendend from. Picture was probably dated late 1880's - early 1900's. Thanks.

    3. Teresa, I am so glad you sent the message. I am thankful that you were able to get out ahead of the storm. It must be terrible not knowing what is going on; not to mention the work that awaits you when you return. I have thought about all the records that were possibly ruined in all of this. 1. Evacuation from New Orleans
    2. Hi List Members: Since I have corresponded with many of you, I thought you might want to know that my husband (Stephen Looney) and I evacuated last Sunday from New Orleans to Baton Rouge, the day before the storm. We took our dog, 2 cats, a suitcase each, and a friend with her cat. We stayed in Baton Rouge with friends long enough to get the other evacuee on a plane to California, then came to stay with relatives in Georgia. We don't know the state of our house except it is surrounded by water on the satellite pictures. We assume that at least the first floor is lost. All my genealogy was on the second floor, so I hope all my research has survived. We consider we are the lucky ones. We are safe and we had a place to go. Teresa McVeigh New Orleans Refugee

I cannot find them on the 1910 census. Their child was born in 1909 in Texas. Any tips on how to find this family would be helpful.
