    1. Re: [LOONEY-L] Genealogical Notes of the Nolen, Williams, Looney & Allied Families
    2. Larry, Yes, thanks I have had the Tilton manuscript for many years. I have just begun really working on Joseph Kyle Looney, brother of David Reasons. I have traced him to Texas and the Mexican revolution here in Texas in 1937. He just disapeard at this point. As far as I know, he never married, but I just recently found out (from Patrick Looney, another of our Looney cousins) that he when he died (JKL)Thomas J. Looney, Atty. had his power of attorney to dispose of his land...to his siblings. Thanks again for all your help! Ginny

    3. Ginny, Have you read Tilton's Manuscript on the David (2) Looney line? Joseph K. (Kyle) Looney is mentioned on page 34 as brother to David Reasons Looney. Of Robert (3), David (2) Looney. 3. This looks like the David and Mary Ann McClelland family. It fits the proper time period, David was born around 1736, it includes a lot of the same sibling names, ie, Joseph William, David and Abraham. David and Mary Looney had a son named Joseph William Looney b. ~1785. Tilton does not have a lot of information on Joseph William Looney, but does imply a connection to a marriage to Lavina Earnst 17 Aug 1807 in Greene Co, TN. (see Tilton's David (2) Looney MS, Page 31). With a little more work, you may find this family you ask about connects to the David (2) Looney line. 1. Re: [LOONEY-L] David (which one?) Looney
    2. Laura Rowley
    3. Ginny, if you look at my line (on Steve's list of researchers) you will see that this is my line that submitted the application. It is David, the son of Robert who can be claimed in DAR. Margaret MeClellan Looney was the daughter of John Spurgeon Looney, who was the son of David, who was the son of David. There is at least one other submission from my line with Elziabeth (I think) McKnight as the submitter. So, the submission was correct, it just wasn't your direct line. Hope that this helps. I tried to send this two other times, but it doesn't seem to be going through on the Looney list. I will try again with this post. Laura

    3. Larry, No, not too many David's. Just a different line! The other lines from children of David and Mary McClellan Looney could also join DAR on David. Look at my line, and you will see that this is from my line. I think that there a couple of other DAR submissions on our line. One was an Elizabeth (I think) McKnight. Laura

    3. Ginny, You are looking at my line. The revolutionary person, was David Sr, the son of Robert. His son, David Jr was next and then his son John Spurgeon Looney. Margaret McClellan Looney was one of John Spurgeon Looney's daughters. If you look at my line of descent on Steve's list you will see this. If you would like dates for these people, let me know. 1. [LOONEY-L] LOONEYs in Randolph Co, AR
    2. This was posted to the Randolph Co discussion list. There are some LOONEYs mentioned. ///Steve Looney/// ========================================================= >ANTIOCH (RANDOLPH) Antioch Church was located about nine miles east of Dalton, and was constituted in 1873. On August 30 of that year a deed was made to the church for the property by Surridge and Fisher. In 1873 this church represented in Spring River Association which met with Liberty Church near Biggers, and the minutes state that it was organized that year and had 22 members. In 1879 it was represented in State Line Association by Joseph D. Henderson and J. Manning, with E. Richardson as pastor. J. W. Tyre was clerk and they reported 56 members. A. R. Kirkpatrick was clerk in 1888 and Isham Looney was pastor. They reported only 33 members. In 1903 J. w. Tyre was clerk again and C. A. Fowler was pastor, and it had 56 members. Others who have served as pastor of this church are I. H. Witt, J. C. Diceton, J. A. Allison, I. J. Looney and L. G. Miller. It ceased to represent when State Line Association merged with Current River, and became inactive. The old building is still standing. Bro. S. W. Looney who was moderator of State Line Association from 1910 until 1921 was a member of this church through those years. Hope this helps Ken Jarrett [email protected] >

    2. As a member of the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution), I can tell you that applications approved BEFORE 1958 needed to be re-proved. This application sounds like it might have been made before then. Also, this sounds like a short form application. This doesn't give alot of information. If you want, you can send a check for $5, payable to Treasurer General, NSDAR and send it to: NSDAR Record Copy Department 1776 D Street NW Washington, DC 20006 When writing, ask for (a) the application of the patriot for the child you descend from or (b) the most recent application. 3. Steve, There have most likely been many before who've tried to document these items you mention. However. . . .I will try my utmost when I visit in the spring. Question: Has anyone tried to find any Llewellyns in Wales? 1. Re: [LOONEY-L] LOONEYs in Kentucky
    2. Martha E Suddarth
    3. THIS JOSEPH LOONEY, listed by Steve, > MASON COUNTY KENTUCKY EARLY MARRIAGES THROUGH 1850 > > WILEY, ELIZABETH LOONEY, JOSEPH 21 JAN > 1815 is the son of David LOONEY and his 1st wife, Isabelle or Isabella KINKHEAD (& brother to my ancestor, John Wesley LOONEY.) Joseph was born March 29, 1791, but I don't know where. Joseph's wife was Elizabeth WILEY. His sister Martha married James Banks WILEY in 1816. Wonder if James and Elizabeth were brother & sister? So Joseph's line is: Joseph (4) David (3) [& Isabelle or Isabella Kinkhead] Adam (2) [& Hannah Wright] Robert (1) [& Elizabeth Llewellyn] Marti
