    3. I also checked out the photo, and even though my Looney's are William and Martha Looney, from Okla. area, mine are Cherokee, and not any of the persons in the picture. Any info on any of the Cherokee Looney's? ----- Original Message ----- From: Betsy Fain Sent: Wednesday, May 21, 2003 9:45 PM To: LOONEY-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [LOONEY-L] Looney Family Photo I have posted one of my Looney photos on www.deadfred.com It may take a little bit of time to show up, so you may have to check back tomorrow. 3. There is a Clarence Ray Looney that was born September 13,1897 and died March 21,1947 and is buried in the Knoxville National Cemetery in Knoxville, Tennessee. His wife is not buried with him. There is a Clarence R. Looney b. abt 1896-1897 in TN - coal miner (father born TN, mother born TN) in the 1930 Lee Co., Virginia Census with Wife Anna P. (Pearl?) Looney born about 1913 in TN, her parents also born in TN, with son Lee R. Looney born abt. February1930 in Virginia. There was a Pearl Looney who was born October 25,1903 and died December 1987 in Virginia. Could this be Pearl Looney Wife of Clarence? (age is exactly 10 years off the 1930 census record). I am not suggesting the above is tied together, only as clues to pursue through further research. Good Luck! 2. Mary Looney
    3. I am seeking to connect Sarah M. Collins Brockert to the Looney line back to Absalom, son of Robert and Elizabeth. She married Roy L. Brockert. Her mother was a Looney who married a Collins. The names they have given me trace from Robert down through Absalom (2), and Absalom (3), then John Warren who birthed Andrew Jackson and then another Andrew Jackson. >From there to Sarah M. Collins I can't make the connection. Andrew Jackson's wife was Elvira Best. Is anyone connected here that can help us? I posted this last week and found I am no longer on the Looney list. I think this is corrected and I am on again but you may have to contact me direct at mll@tri-lakes.net. Sorry if this is your second try.

You can plug in the surname and the first initial of the first name or you can plug in the surname and the state to see all who are listed. It also shows you a little info on the individual and the regimental history. Here is the link: http://www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/ Happy hunting, Larry W. Johnson

    2. Betsy, I'm from the Chickasha, Oklahoma area and have looked at the picture you posted. I didn't recognize the name, William Guy and Matha Ann Looney or anyone in the picture; however, since it was taken in the early 1900's, I'm wondering if some of my family would know them. My dad, Williard Clay Looney, grew up in the communities around Chickasha (Meridian, Bradley, Ninnekah & Chickasha). My dad was one of 15 children born to Arthur Clay & Rachel Elizabeth Looney. Can you send me more information about William & Martha's geneology? Thanks, Donna (Looney) Rahija Kansas City, Kansas
