As we prepare to say goodbye to the rootsweb lists, thought I'd mention my interests in London. While many are in London in more recent years they originate elsewhere, but one the I have in the Bermondsey, Southwark area I have come to a full stop with. That is John Bannister BAILEY. He was bc1776 and died in 1818 in Borough, Surrey, now part of London. He had the freedom of Fishmongers Hall, as did his sons William John, Thomas, James b1802 d 1852 and his daughter Elizabeth, also his grandchildren. James is my 2 x gt. grandfather and he married Eleanor HODKINSON. Unfortunately she died in 1849 in Bermondsey, so unable to see where she was born.
