My recent research has revealed my great grandfather was baptized as an infant according to the Rites of the R.C. Church by Abbe Voyer (sic) in 1814. He was to be baptized a second time thirteen years later as an Anglican and was brought up as one. Does anyone have information they can share with me on a Catholic community (not necessarily a church) residing in Sloane Square area around this time?. Ten years earlier the child's father had been involved in the British government's efforts to 'offer succour to the laity and clergy' of the persecuted (post 1789) French church, and there may be a connection there.
