    3. Thanks Bart but the child was not illegitimate and the father was an employed waterman. So, I can't imagine any reason why they would baptise their child in a pub!     3. Thanks, I was more along the lines of [baptismal rites were conducted at a ‘public house’]. I also am not sure baptisms would take place in a P.H., marriages did. Maybe ‘Parish House’ ?. Bart. ====================
