    1. [LONDON] Identification of house/people,River Thames.

    3. I am trying to identify the people and location of the house in two old family photos.(Click on dropbox links below). A Citroen car appears in front of their home, which is said to be on the banks of the R.Thames.In the front seat of the car photo is my great aunt and her husband, and in the back seat her daughter ,who is also in the other photo with her two sons.Names not known other than the great Aunt's maiden name.(Crossen & variants,Crosby or McCrossen?).A deceased aunt wrote on the photos inter alia "on the banks of the Thames River".Where on the Thames is not known.Careful scrutiny of a sign on the house gate has convinced me that a partially obscured letter is a U = ulverton,so maybe Dulverton or Bulverton which may help identifying the house. The type A Citroen Car was first manufactured in 1921,therefore the photo was taken sometime after that year.Their clothes suggest maybe mid 1920's to early 1930's. I have no other info.so any help leading to the location of the house or people would be very much appreciated, Trev. 3. Hi Trev, Could it also be Milverton? Any chance that they were in Canada? There is a River Thames in London, Ontario, and Milverton is a town close by, although I dont know if it is on the Thames. Architecture is typical late Victorian in Canada. 3. I think the first partly visible letter could be an O, giving (eg) Wolverton. Then the right-hand gate could say House/Lodge/ etc. If it is in England, there is a Wolverton Avenue in Kingston-upon-Thames, with a Wolverton House in it; I haven't been able to identify it with a quick look, but you could play with google maps and images. (I tried there first because of family associations of my own; but there could be masses of other possibilities.)
