I have a Jane DOUGLAS marry an Edward HOLT 2nd March 1794 . Shoreditch . I checked on Ancestry who might be researching the name DOUGLAS and discovered a lot of people in fact back to 1600’s in the London area . Anyone able to explain why this name should appear in London for 400 yr . Their dau Elizabeth HOLT born 17 April 1808 , Shoreditch my husbands line . Hi Shirley I suppose I would have to ask, why not?
