Thanks to all who responded to my query re Kensal Green All Souls Cemetery. I now know that the cemetery for St. George Hanover Square was actually on Mount Street, where my Smith's lived and another was Bayswater. Now, I have found my Jonah SMITH (he's not the Corn Merchant with wife Elizabeth VAIL). Instead he was a dyer who lived at 5 Crombies-row, Commercial Road in London. So, both Jonah and his brother George were dyers. George left a will, which although lengthy gives me no further information than what I already had on him. So far nothing for Jonah and too many for Jacob at the moment (saving up). I cannot help but wonder if Jacob SMITH was a dyer as well. I have searched the 1808 London Pocket directory, the 1819 London directory and the 1825-6 Pigot's Directory of London and have found George and Jonah in the Pigot's. Jacob does not appear in any of them. Could I ask if someone could check for Jacob SMITH in any London directories they have available to them before 1841? I would also appreciate any sightings of Jonah SMITH, dyer, too. I cannot locate Jonah on the 1841 census. I do have George. Thank you! -- Glenys www.quietacre.net
