According to the baptism he was born on 27 May,presumably the previous year. His father was a servant & they lived in Great Chesterfield Street. There is a couple called Charles & Martha Lush who appear in later censuses from 1851 to 1891 but they live in Dorset and Somerset. Like you, I can't find any trace of this family in the censuses. But capital L's are often mistranscribed as 'S' and 'u' is often read as 'a'. So have you tried looking for SASH and LASH?
