    3. Hello Listers For many years I have been trying to locate the marriage and the date of death and/or burial of my late husband's 3g grandfather, ROBERT HELMORE. Robert Helmore was born in Devon and baptised at Exminster on 17 Sep 1749. I have found a possible reference to him on Ancestry in Apprenticeship Indentures and he MAY have been a 'whitebread baker.' He left Devon possibly after 1775 when he was a witness at a marriage and was in London in 1783 when he was again a witness to a marriage in St Marylebone. His own children were baptised at St George Hanover Square between ca 1785 and 11 Mar 1788, the last one, George Henry, being my late husband's ancestor. His wife's name was Sarah but I have found no record of a marriage either in Devon or at St George, Hanover Square. Sarah died in 1824 and was buried at Kingston, Surrey on 24 Aug 1824, recorded as a widow. Robert was not recorded in Kingston burial records on the LDS film that I had hired. The HELMORE family seemed to spend time in Surrey and some of George Henry's children were baptised at Petersham, although family place of residence was recorded as London, where George was a coal merchant. I have a sub to Ancestry and have searched the London records to no avail. Any suggestions to help me make a small dint in my brick wall would be gratefully received.
