Going back to my recent and obviously questionable (up for interpretation!) of his birth as Camp Shanks, in New York -- if he was born into the military, military families were often on the move so records were often scattered..... So perhaps consider that this was a military family ....? at least at one time. Have you tried the military records. Interesting to see if he was a US native or UK citizen.... eh? Thanks for your thoughts Marilyn, I have done searches on two well-known FH websites to which I subscribe at time.....no sign of anything Military, or even Passenger listings.... His wife Eugene is found in Brentwood Essex in 1911 as a Widow, housekeeper......with a daughter Laurie, born 1903 who has appeared without trace. So my mystery continues.....
