Hi All, new to this list trying to discover ANYTHING about my great grandparents and family Christopher and Veronica (?) LINKEN had 4 sons Christopher Linken born 1890 Henry LINKEN born 1890 William LINKEN born 1892 Albert LINKEN born 1898 The same address of 4 Park Village East St Pancras. Does that address still exist today, and does anyone have a connection or knowledge of any of this family I would appreciate it very much John Hume Nottingham

Hi John, and welcome to the list. Your family seem to have started off in this country as LUNKENHEIMER (or variants thereon!). Christopher married Veronika MENTEN in the second quarter of 1888 in the St Pancras RD (Vol 1b page 272). The certificate should give you the names and occupations of both their fathers. Park Village East does indeed still exist, and very lovely the houses are too! Google Street View will allow you to walk down it and identify the current number 4 which may or may not be the same as the number 4 in the 19th century. Does this help as a start? There are possible Naturalisation papers for him at Kew. http://tinyurl.com/3qwr2o3 If it's the right man, these may tell you where he was born, his parents' names, and other details (including recent addresses in the UK, if you don't already have that information). Copies can be ordered online from Kew -- follow the Ordering and Viewing Options on the above link.
