The 1861 census shows my G-grandfather Marshall BENNETT aged 12, born Belize, as a visitor at Gayton House, #7 Kensington Park Terrace, London. (RG9/14. RG Kensington SD Kensington Town, ED8 folio 68 p. 3 sch 7.) The head of household was Maria A. BLANCHARD, b. Down, Mdx, occupation Landed Property; she had sons Leonard BLANCHARD aged 14 and Ernest W. BLANCHARD, aged 12. Apparently Marshall was visiting school chums during the Easter holidays.
